I was finally able to visit with a very good friend of mine this past weekend at ASPC-Safford. The visit went very well. I was there from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (not sure if visiting hours are the same everywhere else or not).
They allowed me to give him a hug (for quite an extended time). However, we were only allowed to hold hands during the visit. He was not allowed to put his arm around me, nor was I him. That was hard. But, as the visit was ending, they allowed me to hold him for quite some time again. They were actually VERY nice down there. I was suprised.
Anyhow, just wanted to share my experience. I'm curious as to what the other prisons are like at visitation? Anyone have a story? I hope everyone else is having a good experience. It's so hard to leave him behind...so I know what you're all going through. It's nice when the guards make it pleasant. At least some of them understand.
