A Letter from Heaven

To my dearest family
Some things I'd like to say,
But first of all to let you know
That I arrived okay.

I'm writing you from Heaven
Where I dwell with God above,
Where there's no more tears or sadness
There is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy
Just because I'm out of sight,
Remember that I'm with you
Every morning, noon, and night.

That day I had to leave you
When my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me
And He said, "I welcome you".

"It's good to have you back again
You were missed while you were gone,
As for your dearest family
They'll be here later on."

"I need you here so badly
As part of My big plan,
There's so much that we have to do
To help our mortal man."

Then God gave me a list of things
He wished for me to do,
And foremost on that list of mine
Is to watch and care for you.

And I will be beside you
Every day and week and year,
And when you're sad I'm standing there
To wipe away that tear.

And when you lie in bed at night
The days chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you
In the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth
And all those loving years,
Because you're only human
They are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry
It does relieve the pain,
Remember there would be no flowers
Unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you
Of all that God has planned,
But if I were to tell you
You wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain
Though my life on earth is o'er,
I am closer to you now
Than I ever was before.

And to my very dearest friends
Trust God for He knows best,
I'm still not far away from you
I'm just beyond the crest.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you
And many hills to climb,
But together we can do it
Taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy
And I'd like it for you too,
That as you give unto the world
So the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody
Who's in sorrow or in pain,
Then you can say to God at night
My day was not in vain.

And now I am contented
That my life... it was worthwhile,
Knowing as I passed along the way
I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody
Who is down and feeling low,
Just lend a hand to pick him up
As on your way you go.

When you are walking down the street
And you've got me on your mind,
I'm walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind.

And when you feel that gentle breeze
Or the wind upon your face,
That's me giving you a great big hug
Or just a soft embrace.

And when it's time for you to go
From that body to be free,
Remember you're not going...
You are coming here to me!

And I will always love you
From that land way up above,
I'll be in touch again soon
P.S....God sends His love.

I am so sorry....but, remember....God knows best!
My prayers and thoughts are with you always.
I love you more than you will ever know

menia i have been following all your posts not really commenting to much as i have been at a loss for words on what to say to you. i know it hurts as i had put my love into someone as most of us have, and to loss them when being so close is one of the greatest underserved pains anyone should have to go through. one of the worst, but any loss is horrible and painful. through your posts you show so much change. and i hope that your pain is easing. this poem was beautiful and brough me to tears as well. talking about the loss of a loved one and sharing is one of the helps in easing pains and i hope over this holiday season you have been able to find comfort in sharing time with your family and one day you will be together again. god bless you.

Thank you for your comments, it makes me feel that someone does care about the pain I am going through. I am so sorry that you are dealing with the same pain. You are right, there is no pain like this type of pain, at least none I have ever felt before.

We are strong, and we will fight to get through this. What I have been doing is working a lot, just to try and keep myself occupied. As I write this post, I am sitting at the hospital with a very sick elderly lady. I have a small personal care service for the elderly, and over the holidays it seems to have gotten really busy. For that I am grateful because I need them just as much as they need me.

Yes I have found that keeping busy works as well sometimes I wonder if some subsitution I have made in my life weren't for the right reasons though- trying to feel voids to quickly.

For me filling the void was the only way to I had to deal with this tragedy. The more I sat down and grieve his death, the worse it got for me. There were times when I really wanted to die also, I had to pray even harder and ask the Lord to help me. I believe that this is what he gave me to do. Keith was the type of person that loved to help others, so I just decided that I would try to do the same thing in his honor. Believe me it is not easy, I get dog tired most days, but when I stop I start to focus on the why's and what if's, and honestly I am not strong enough to deal with that right now so I have to keep avoiding the pain in anyway I can. I have to do this at least until I can make myself believe that he is gone forever. It is so easy to believe that he is still in prison and you have gotten so use to him being there, that it makes sense to tell yourself that, but Keith always told me that prison is the worst place you can be and when I tell myself that he is still there, I feel guilty because I know he would not want that. So I have to just fill the void by working. I know it might make sense to some of you all, but I have to deal with this the best way I know how. People in the beginning are very supportive, but when they feel it is time for you to move on, they leave you basically without support because you know they really don't want to hear about it so you try to avoid talking about it. What it has done is made me seek relief by helping others.

This is just how I deal with it.

A Little Humor: I am at the hospital sitting with a patient. I am a smoker, so I set the bed alarm so I can go out of the room, and if she tried to get up the alarm will notify the staff. Well as I sat here typing this post group of nurses rush in here, and I looked up and they told me that the alarm had went off at the Nurses station. I just laughed and said now I know that I don't have to worry when I go outside. They thought it was funny also.
