If you get a chance and get to the library, borrow it to read. It's marvelous and a pleasurable read. DANCING WITH GOD

When I meditated on the word Guidance,
I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.

I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.

When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow with the music,
And everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,
Both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back,
Or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.
The dance takes surrender, willingness,
And attentiveness from one person,
And gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.
When I saw "G" I thought of God, followed by "u" and "I."
God, you, and I dance.

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust
That I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God's blessings
And mercies be upon you on this day and everyday.

May you abide in God as God abides in you
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead

Isn't that just awesome.....one Sunday our pastor said we have to go out and reach those that the world has thrown away and it's good for them to see Jesus in us but it is more important for us to see Jesus in them-sooooo true.

To follow up on yesterday's devotional, to make changes in our lives that will last a lifetime, each of us needs to do a few things every day. Paul first reminds us that God has filled the Bible with promises for the changed person. He has given us promises that will never change and will always be there for the person who has changed through the power of Jesus Christ. And with those promises we are to cleanse ourselves from all things of the past. We are to cleanse ourselves of all the fleshly attitudes, habits, and living. Then, each day we are to allow God to make us holy as we serve Him in respect and love.
To allow real change to take effect and to become a lifestyle there are three things (according to one writer) that we must understand. And they are all found in Scripture. First, we must understand that our lives are not futile. We have reason for living, we have purpose for our life, and we have a part in God's plan in history. Second, we need to believe that our failures are not fatal. We will fail from time to time. We will bomb out in our decisions. We will make a fool of ourselves at one time or another - but it is not the end of the world. Our failures are NOT fatal. Then third, we need to remember that our death is not final. There is life after death, there is a reward for good, clean living. There is a real reason for our being. And there is true happiness for eternity. With these truths in mind - we will have a great year. We will enjoy true peace every single day of our lives.

The Kairos song is phenomenal. I printed the lyrics out and sent them to our son. I reminded him that God's plan for us may not always be clear - and it may not always seem like this part of his life in prison is part of that plan, but it surely is. I feel it's part of God's plan for me as well. It's opened my eyes to another world and touches my heart in ways I never expected.

I wish Kairos was in Michigan. I'm going to write them and see if there's a way to come to Michigan through the ministry we do have. What an awesome vocation they have! Christ is working through these people.

I can't remember where I saw the Kairos discussion, but just FYI, they are about the only ministry Tx allows inside the prisons. I have to say from personal experience with them, as a former inmate, these people are truly Angels. They came every year for a week straight, to personally pray, support, and listen to us. They stayed in our day rooms, all day, they every year at Christmas hand delivered to each inmate, home made cookies. They do so much, if you want to get involved, I can tell you, they are truly amazing.

hi perque. went to a keith green concert once, many yrs ago. such a man of God. I remember the day he and 2 of his kids w/ him, died in his plane. such a sad day that was. all his music was so God inspired. at the concerts he always asked that @ the end, no clapping, just go out quietly w/ your mind on Christ. he was not a 'gloryseeker'.

You know how he died? He was going on a trip in a plane. He was going to take his son. He wife at the last minute grabbed her son so he didnt go. The plane crashed and Keith died.

Jill actually keith and 2 of his children went flying that day. i wonder if he knew his time was close, because before leaving that day, he told his wife what to name the baby she was carrying.. and i don't think they knew it was boy or girl at time. both the kids were buried in same casket as keith, so they could be w/ their dad.
it was such a sad day. I remember i was sitting in our van waiting for my hubby to get off work when they announced it on radio shortly after it happened.

Ahhhh, Reggie, you sure can pick the tunes. Takes me back to the days when my oldest were babies and I was a hippy momma in my bell bottoms and tie dyed shirts. I even tye dyed the babies shirts. Hubby had long hair and a beard and I was standing on my head doing the yoga while listening to Clapton, Beatles, Stevie, etc. I was making macrame jewelery and plant hangers for some spare change. Made my own bread and granola. Yep, them were the days.

Moma K, how funny. Yep, I had a couple red headed brothers from back in the hills of WVA that I was playing with for awhile. Good lookin' & wild and both wanted the sweet city girl but I played smart and went for the hubby and stability. It would've been a wild ride with either one of the country boys.
