What color prison "uniform" is your loved one stuck wearing?

In Alabama it was all white, but now that he's one of the Alabama inmates in a private prison in Mississippi, he's wearing khaki. He's kind of enjoying the change of color after 13+ years in white... :)

My hubby is in the SHU so its all white :-) I always tease him saying I love a man in uniform anyway

My baby gets to wear street clothes during visits, but dark blue with orange stripes the rest of the time.

My mans clothes are grey! Yuck! I really hate grey.

He wears tan unless he is in the hole then he wears orange.

My honey has to were blue dark blue pants and light blue shirts........ He said when he comes home he will never were blue again......

Powder blue here. I do the same as Joanna - "Baby, I LOVE a man in uniform" - but I'm SURE he will NEVER own anything blue again!

I think all Missouri prisons wear gray. Not a pretty gray either. it is uglier than hell. Craig will never wear another gray anything in his life. I don't blame him, I wouldn't either.

Doug wears dark blue dickies for pants and a light blue button up shirt with a t shirt underneath it.

I've only seen him in the orange once but trust me, with that hideous color once was enough. It made him look terrible, he is very fair skinned and it just washed him out- he looked ill. He never wore it before and I can't imagine he will EVER wear it again once he's out.

Dark green scrubs here. He can wear white T-shirts, thermal tops, and I've seen one guy come out for a non-contact visit in his boxers and a sleeveless T-shirt!

In Michigan its Blues with an orange stripe down the leg and across their shoulders. Their prison number is across their backs and down their pant legs also.

I have only seen my hubby in his blues just ONCE - last Thursday when I attended his graduation from a Maintenance Program. When he had to go to court, they took him in a nice crisp set of khaki's.

He looks good in anything :D

Honestly, it could be orange & purple stripes or something out of "Cat in the Hat" and I wouldn't care. Just to be able to have a contact visit is enough. I doubt, though, that he will ever wear khaki or grey sweats after he gets out.

My sweetie wears Blue Jeans and a Blue Jean Shirt with a White T underneath. But when not in Visiting he wears sweats & stuff!

Marvin wears a dark denim jeans and long sleeve chambray shirt with white undershirt and work boots. It's not that bad at all, he look so good and handsome actually.

Mrs D said it for Michigan. I'm fortunate because I have never seen him in his prison clothing because they are allowed street clothes on visits. I have seen Dr Kevorkian in his prison clothes though.

Dark green here! But in two of the prisons that I have visited him at (one maxium and one minimum security), he was able to wear street clothes, so he wore Nike Airs, Tommy jeans, Nike sweatshirts, etc.... He was lookin' good then! :) Now they have these horrible velcro shoes they have to wear, and I tease him all the time about them!!!

My husband wears dark green pants. He can wear tops from the street but only in certain colors and they have to be solid colors.

I guess it's 'dark green' but it is not dark enough to be called forrest green..it is a strange shade and my husband hates it! He swears, once he is home, he will never wear another pair of green pants, EVER, any shade, as long as he lives! smiles

My Brandon wears this flourescent orange color which really isn't his best color...I tease him though, because he's a HUGE Texas Longhorn fan, and their color is Burnt Orange. So, I just tell him it's a variation on his favorite! He always wears a white thermal top under his to visitation though, because it's freezing in the visiting room.

Justin wears Orange right now while he's in county. Their uniforms 'class' them. Red for high risk, orange for felonies, blue for misdameanors. Hope he get's something better in prison, but he doesn't look all that bad in orange. Our daughter (who's 3) just thinks he has no style, and she tells him he really should change outfits every once in awhile :)

Wow! I had no idea there were so many different colors out there! Shane was in orange (the hole) for a while and I would tease him that it was midnight and time for the pumpkin to turn back into my prince!

I thought I heard somewhere that prison clothes were actually poplular with people on the outside? As in the prison was actually making uniforms and selling them on the outside? Those people would have to be sick to where those ugly rags!

My baby wears blue. Its not dark... its not a baby blue either. Its a drab, plain blue, But he still looks good in it.

Mississippi wears a white white shirts with MDOC CONVICT on the back. When he first got there his pants had black and white stripes but he got trustee status so now he wears green and white stripes.

Mine wore orange in the county but now he wears a bright yellow one in the MSDF. I always tease him about how sexy he looks in that yellow. I told him we are gonna have to get one of thoser for when he comes home. LOL

At Angola (Louisiana State Prison) they wear blue jeans and white t-shirts...can be v-neck or regular neck, or a denim button down shirt, or a white button down shirt!

in Texas it is white but i like my honey in anything he wears because i love him so much just the thought of him coming out brings a smile to my face.

In Roxbury Correctional in MD. They let them wear regular clothes. Jeans T-shirts, Jerseys. Anything they want to wear

My husband wears all whites at the faciilty wear he is at.

My husband was moved last month to a work release program. He works for the state cooking meals for senior citizens from 7 am to 4 pm each day. They took his ugly kacki uniforms when he got there and gave him camo outfits to wear. I also had to pack his "street clothes" and take them to him. I'm so glad that I at least get to see him in his Levis and t-shirts and not in those uniforms with names and numbers on them. I didn't know that seeing him in his own clothes again would have such an impact on me, but I almost broke down and cried. The fact that he has control over what he wears really ment a lot to him too. He said that it didn't matter at first, but he called me after I dropped his clothes off that next day and said he slept like a baby. Every tiny bit of feeling closer to home helps. :)

My baby wears blue jeans (I think dickies) and a light blue button up shirt. The blue brings out the color in his eyes so I don't mind too much. Unfortunately it means we can't wear blue to visiting which means a lot of my clothes are off limits.

I am pretty sure that this is the standard uniform for the mail liners in the California Prison System. And I like how sharp they look when I get to visit, unfortunatly it has been several years since I have seen him!!:( But I am crossing my fingers that I will be there soon!!

When my boyfriend was arrested in Clearlake, the jail they took him to made the inmates where the traditional black and white strips. My baby thought it was hilarious. But now he's transfered to the Solano County jail and he's back in dark green.

My guy gets to wear his own clothes but the state issue clothes for the inmates who don't get packages from their families wear a light tan.

White, a dingy white at that and they all look bad in it.

The ones they get to wear in visits are dingy white with the word visit on the front in marker and they say they look 100 times better than the ones they wear every day.

My son when he was in the JUVE he wears dark blue, after transfered him he uses Orange and now he wears all white, he is always neat, and with his best smile at the visit. And when they are on line they look like if they are ready for the first communion.

Actually back in the 80s they were called decks but mostly people wore them in white. But his r blue n UGLY. Couldnt the VADOC at least try to make it easier n let them match???...LOL...but that is during a visit. He can wear any color sweat pants n shirts inside.

My baby wears a uniform similar to that of the Navy. He wears a light blue shirt and navy blue pants. They only have to wear it when they are having a visit and are leving the prison for like court or something. They can wear whatever they are afford to buy where he is.

My baby wears tan on visits, and grey and while on the unit. When my friends see him in the visit photos they never would have guessed that he was in prison!! I guess thats because prison uniforms are over in the U.S. are different from the ones over here, and the not the same as the ones you see on the TV or films!

Micheal's prison issued clothes are white. He was in county this past week and he had to wear orange. He said damn I miss my whites. LOL

He's in dark green, but they are allowed to wear collared, buttondown shirts for visits...in the accepted colors.

In NJ State prisons they wear Khakki (tan). I can't even imagine what he looks like in real clothes!

My guy wears khaki tops and bottoms. He also has to wear black boots which I know drove him nuts during the summer. He looks quite sexy in them.

Yep...in NJ it's Khaki!! Dave wears his khaki pants, a button up khaki collard shirt and a white tee underneath. They can also buy wife beaters, whiteish long johns and light grey sweats for when they are on the wing. But let me tell you...he looks da*n sexy!!!:D UMM...he's had a pair of khakis from being locked up before and he wore them with a beater one day when he was out...I could have eaten him up!!! Now if he would only shave that darn beard LOL!!!! He looks sexy in his khakis...but I'd like to see what's underneath again!!!! Hugs:p

It IS a hum drum, dull shade of blue, though...if there was such a thing as dead blue...that's the color of the FLDOC.

A nasty, butt ugh-gly, poopie looking kind of brown. Somehow, he still looked sexy in it. But hey, I was feeling deprived then. After all, it had been YEARS since we were last together. I think at that point he would have looked FINE in a sackcloth and ashes!

My uncle wore orange in county, my penpal in Idaho wears dark blue, and my DR pals in Florida wear orange shirts with the usual FDOC blue pants.

My husbands prison attire is dark green. Thankfully he only has to wear the pants. He can wear any shirt as long as it's a solid color and isn't blue, orange, grey or black. Any other is fine.

I have a friend in FED over in Three Rivers, Texas and some guyz sent pics becuz i do a penpal service and some were wearing like Dickie shirt n pants, others were wearing Grey Sweats n Shirt, others were green.

I do know that while they are in they can buy grey sweatpants, shirts, shorts but when they come out to visit everyone wears their white uniform :cool:

In Florida they all wear blue..with a stripe down the pant leg! That is what my cousin and brother both wear.
My sweetie wears pretty much anything I believe! He wears blue though! He has sent me pictures in a blue "uniform" and also in a Blue Nike shirt and blue shorts!! He can order stuff I believe!

He is a trustee in the jail he is in. He gets to wear a blue tshirt or a shirt that kinda looks like a scrub shirt. He can wear blue sweat pants or drawstring pants.

Rafek was able to wear his street clothes at his old prison, with a few rules, no football tshirts, hoods etc. But now at his new place he wears: blue jeans, blue and white striped shirt and a great sweatshirt. During visits they wear a bright orange bib

right now since he's in county it's the orange but I am sure when he gets to a fed camp it will be tan yes I am so tired of that color lol

I don't know what color my man gets to wear. He's in Wrightsville, AR unit. I have never been able to visit him. I have only seen him in the black & white stripe scrubs while he was in county and it didn't make him look too good. Does anyone know what color he might be wearing. I swore when I was released from TDC I would NEVER wear white again! Of course that didn't last very long...but now my husband is in TDC and I will never get sick of seeing it as long as its on his booty!

Poor Chris is stuck with black & white stripes. :( I've never seen him, but that's what he tells me. I read that when they get the new Centre County facility done, everybody will be wearing color-coded stripes. Poor guys. I'll definitely never buy him stripes, but he loves black, so I think that's still safe.

Eldon always glows the hue of a flourescent pumpkin. It is God awful.

Blue with orange stripe, when he came home the first time, they provided him with khaki pants and shirt.
I have to say the worst suit I have seen him in was when he was still in county it was black and white stripe. He is tall and lanky anyhow and so the black and white stripe did him no justice.
He does look good in his blue uniform though, if it had to be any color blue is his best.

Right now he is in the Detention Center and they wear bright orange. One day during a contact visit a kid asked his Dad, "Why are you dressed like a pumpkin?".

After my son is sentenced he will be moved to the actual prison (federal) and is looking forward to khaki. That has to be 100% improvement over bright orange.

Right now the color of uniform my baby wears is orange.He's still in reception.I see other prisoners wear a chambray uniform.The inmates who have contact visitis, that is.On the back of the uniform and on the side of the pants is writen cdc prisoner on both uniforms.

He wears tan in visit and orange when he goes to court. When he was on Rikers Island it was a grey jumpsuit. No matter what color it is, was or will be it is UGLY!!

Right now while he is still in county he has black and white stripes from what he has told me. I don't know, I haven't been able to see him for two months :mad:

My man wears dark green. I hate that color I tell him all the time that I am sick and tired of the color and that when he comes home he is never allowed to wear that color again.

Well my baby doesn't have to wear a uniform.....he gets his own clothes, shoes, everything. He can even wear a gold chain if it has a religious medallion. But the state issues in WA are khaki unless they're in a jumpsuit, which is usually orange or blue, I think.

My baby has been in bright orange while in jail but once he's transferred to prison I believe it will be khaki which is still ugly but better then orange!

let me say this...in NY they can wear what ever shirts as long as they follow the color restrictions, etc....and shoes too. Prison green pants and all...I see some well dressed men in NYS prisons...lol. With their own shoes and shirts, they can wear the hell out them green pants..lololol.

You are right vonne, I have seen the inmates coming into the room while I wait for Rah-Rah to come down and sometimes it's like a fashion show, lol. They do know how to work those pants, it's nice they try to look fly for us ;)

But I don't know if this hapens to you other ladies, sometimes they go to far ! I have been in the visiting room sometimes for 30 minutes before Rah-Rah comes down, not because the Co's didn't call him fast enough but because he is "trying to get his gear right " to come down and see me, lol I told him he don't have to get fly for me but he wants to and I think it's cute :yes:

My huuby here in Arkansas wears white, ewwwww, he hates white and so do I!

He wears orange at visit, tan and blue on the yard

my husband weres blue with yellow writting CDC PRISONER across the back and down the legs and the yellow is refector so at night the lights could see it

He was like no....My Boobie is here to see my, and my waves (in his hair), were being disrespectful, so I have to get them in order..LMAO. :p I told him he is NOT going to come home and spend more time in the mirror than me! And he wears Chucks(converse) Represtin the West Coast.

My hubby wears orange! I'm so sick of seeing him in it. I'd give anything to see him in regular clothes again!! He's in Tennessee, though, I guess that makes sense with the Vols being orange and all.

My man wears a khaki shirt and matching pants. He also has to wear these goofy looking tan Rockport shoes.

It doesn't matter what he's wearing, he's so beautiful to me, I don't really even notice!

I don't care if he's covered in tar and feathers, I get to see him and that's all that matters!!!

I'm not totally sure on when and why they can wear different things, but my honey is in JCI in WI, and his uniform is 2 pc. dark green, but I have visiting pics of him in street clothes AND his uniform, so I'm not sure why that is.....he also gets to wear whatever shoes he wants, I know that much.....he has work boots, nice boots, and two pair of tennis shoes (a white pair and a black pair). Everything is nice and name brand, so who knows??? He also gets to wear whatever he wants when he plays for the prison in his band, which is hot.....lol :p

My hunnies in Maryville in MO. They were grey there. Anythings better than the caution orange they put them in in county though!!!

My poor son has had to wear all white for 13 almost 14 years now and he said when he gets out he'll never wear anything white agian and I don't blame him. Hopefully soon he's going to wear what ever he wants to wear!!!!

Deon wears 2 pc. white with navy strip down the side and a white tee underneath. He looks good in it, but I would rather see him in his boxers. :D

Christopher had all white jump suit with prisoner down the leg in lew sterret with pink boxers which i loved he he, and now in middleton all white not sure about the boxers yet lol

tan (khaki), he says he never wants to see anything this color in his closet once he comes home. (LOL)

While my man was on a probation hold he wore bright yellow (looked like bigbird), then he was transferred and was in dark green, now he got into trouble and is in red.

My man is wearing an orange jumpsuit where he is at. He's dark complected and it makes his skin look yellowish/orange.

My man wears dark blue pants, a button up light blue shirt with a white t-shirt underneath and he gets to wear his own shoes.
