be like without "fast money".
I am soooooo terrified that he might just go back to old ways, break my heart, ect.
I don't know what I would do.
He writes such wonderfull things that make my heart melt,
were suppost to get married and live right...
but I am so scared that once he gets out, I will end up with a shattered heart. So i want to find a book to open his eyes a little on life, and so on. any suggestions?

Well, why do you think he'll go back without "fast money"? Usually fast money as it applies to experiences I've had is someone looking to support a drug habit. Does he have a drug problem? Or maybe gambling problems? Maybe one of the recovery books would be a good choice if that's the case. Otherwise, I don't know what books to suggest.

I could rattle off at least 10 books that may change a man's life, or not.
It all comes down to the person.
The books that have had an impact on my life may not do the same for another.
To be honest, there really is no difference between one book or another.
A man can get as much from the yellow pages as another may get from the bible.

He may need a book on 'life skills'. basic everyday coping skills that we take for granted. Some prison teach classes but all states should. If you are interestted. I'll get some specific names and websites.

There is a book called "Makes Me Wanna Holler" by Nathan McCall
Here is an excerpt from an article about the book,

The ongoing national debate over the relationship between race, class, crime, and America's culture of violence has been dominated on the one hand by the ill-formed, indeed racist pronouncements of the leading figures in both political parties, and on the other by a retreat into abstractions on the part of radicals, which is easily mistaken for lack of candor. Into this vacuum steps Nathan McCall's powerful memoir of growing up African-American in a Virginia city in the early 1970s, Makes Me Wanna Holler: A Young Black Man in America. More than simply an interesting personal story about how a convicted armed robber leaves prison and becomes a reporter at one of the most prestigious newspapers in the United States (the Washington Post), McCall's book provides a thick description of the sources of what Cornel West has termed "Black nihilism in America."

McCall's story begins in Portsmouth, Virginia, where he grew up in a sprawling working-class black neighborhood. McCall describes how consciousness of differential treatment of whites and blacks affected his self-concept at a very early age. To compensate psychologically for the routine indignities experienced due to racism, it became vital for McCall to win the respect of his black peers. Their egos were fragile, and hence each perceived slight or show of disrespect at the hands of another black was blown out of reasonable proportion. By junior high school, conforming to the peer culture meant being hip to the right clothes and developing the proper strut technique, a smart mouth, and an air of toughness (as well as the fistfighting skills to back it up). McCall presents the alternative to conforming to this peer culture as exposing oneself to a relentless stream of verbal and possible physical abuse. Thus as a young teenager, McCall found a group of buddies to "hang with" as a coping strategy for maintaining personal self-esteem, a group with a collective ego capable of bolder and more daring shows of badness than any thirteen-year-old acting alone.

McCall and company were soon involved in gang fighting, at first simply against other groups of teenage toughs a few blocks away - "Naw, man y'all can't just walk past our corner any old kinda way ... You got to give up some respect when you walk by here!" - but later in solidarity with his entire neighborhood against the downtown Portsmouth gangs, and even briefly (as a result of local Black Panther organizing) against all of white Portsmouth. McCall is riveting in his description of the sheer power he felt upon wielding a gun - "life's great equalizer" - for the first time....

My man is reading a book his parents got him from a Christian store. I think it's CAlled 12 Steps to Sobriety. Something like that. He reads it now and writes to me about it. Were gonna read it together when hes back home. Theres a lot of inspirational books out there. Just depends on the person reading it. I would check out a Bible book store close to you. There's a TON of good books there. You know him better than onyone. You'll find it.
