What hotel's do you stay at when you go to visit? The Confort Inn I stay at is really nice but it doesn't have an indoor pool, so when we get back from visiting my husband there is really nothing for the kids to do but drive me crazy. I am thinking in the summer it won't be a problem but right now I would be willing to pay more for a indoor pool.

I'm staying at the Days Inn. I don't think there are any hotels in that area with indoor pools. We'll have to find something for the kids to do after the visits. My kids always take a nap after visiting unless they took a nap during the visit.

After asking about a hotel with an indoor pool myself, I found a Holiday Inn express it says Lewisburg/New Columbia that has a indoor pool. About the vistors form. I printed one off the BOP web site and mailed it in. It took them about 4 days to get it. My Husbands counselor was really nice he told me that as soon as he got it he would process it, and he did. So it took about a week. When did you express mail it?

My husband has been in Allenwood over a year now. I stay in South Williamsport @ The Ridgemont. It's clean, & cheap.

My kids are 12, 5 and 2 all boys. I'm only bringing my 5 and 2 year olds on this trip. My 12 year old doesn't like going so we don't force him. I'll be praying with and for you to be able to come down this weekend.

My children are 14, 11, 5 and 2 and the older 2 don't like going either. They say that it's boring. I don't want to force them but I don't want them to loose that bond with my husband. I wish I was going this weekend. At least my husband will have a visit my sister-in-law is planning to see him Sunday. I won't be able to go visit him until next week end. I feel kinda bad not going to see him on Christmas but I didn't want to pull the kids away from home on Christmas. You ladies have a safe trip and a very Merry Christmas.

Which Allenwood Facility is ur loved ones at.. Mine is at Allenwood Med. I wish i could go see him, living in maine makes it suck....... I dont think my car will make it. I am a single mother of two. I would have to take the train or bus and im talkin lots of $$$$$$$

Yes, you 2 Christina. I do not have any children. My dear has 4 grandchildren ranging from 9-1year. He also has one on the way. So I will have grandchildren to sit with. My dear is at Allenwood low however U are welcome here we are all Allenwood fam.

With it being Christmas and all I think I'm going to leave later so that I can still see him and not be kicked out because of overcrowdedness.

I spoke to Hopeful and she was just about to Allenwood @ 9:30.

Girl you are crazy. I'm feeling "some type of way" as you like to put it. I'm in a very depressed state right now. I haven't been like this since he first went in. I guess this weekend was a bit overwhelming for me. I feel you though, it would be nice to have him holding me and us ringing in the New Year together, as a family...

My anniversary visit was a mixed bag. I lost like $80 on the way up to Pennsylvania so that left me very upset. Then once I made it to Allenwood, I waited an hour once I made it to the visiting room. Come to find out he was working overtime and forgot that I was coming on Friday. With him leaving the job to see me he said that he won't be able to work overtime anymore. Things were going okay and then because of the missing money I had to make a decision on whether to stretch the money that I had and stay til Sunday or leave after Saturday's visit. Well I was blessed by someone that helped me to be able to stay until Sunday. On Saturday at visit my husband and I told each other how much we love each other, we talked about the things we missed doing, the things that we want to do in the future and how much we have changed in 7 years. It was a very special time. I was so grateful that even though the visiting hall was quite full that no one was put out that day. On the way from visit, I had a flat tire. Of course none of the men that were visiting stopped to help me, but I really didn't need their help anyway because my husband and dad did teach me how to change a flat. Then on Sunday we talked again and tried to get away with as much as we could. I ended up having to leave early due to overcrowding but all in all I had a blast with the love of my life. Now I'm home and broke with no gas in my car, but it was worth it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S LADIES! I pray that you all have a happy and prosperous New Year. I'm very thankful for god bringing all of you into my life.

When I was 18 I was married for a short time and do not know where my ex-husband is located at this time. I have to get those dates so I am gonna to apply on line to get d-papers. Not sure about this. Baby told me it would not matter weather I had local or not. Their calls are 23. per minute. They get 300 and the price is 69.00 per month. As others post you will get answers. Also in the phone forurm, there is a thread on phone local or not. Check it out,

It is call forwarding because the telephone company will give her a number for Williamsport and forward it to her line in NC. Unless she gets a cell phone based in Williamsport and does it that way.

I understand WHO. You must pick yourself up and keep living life. Make things good for you both so that when he comes home he can be somewhat comfortable. You need to show your son that you are a strong person and that even though Daddy is gone you all can still make it. I didn't think I could make it in the beginning. Now, it's been almost 6 years and I'm working part-time (only because of Fibromyalgia) and taking care of my kids. My parents are now making me move 30 days after I receive my tax refund, but I know that I can make it. I made it this far without my husband so I can make it another 4 without him and have a home for him to come to.

Who Keep your head up. It is hard and sometime i want to throw in the towel but I can't i don't want to let my husband and my children down. There are days when I don't want to get dressed I don't want to leave the house but I get thought it. I believe that god didn't bring me this far to leave me. He didn't say it was going to easy. I don't know what the year ahead may bring but i know what ever happens i am going to be alright. My aunt gave me her motto and I really liked it, You have to have some set backs to make way for a hell of a come back :). You have us We are all in the same boat so if you need to cry, kick, scream. and yell you go right ahead that is what we are here for.

Well as for me I didn't get much sleep due to talking to a friend til 5 in the morning on the phone. I slept for 2 hours, took the kids to school came back home slept another 1 1/2 and then went to my interview. I made it to the hospital at 11:20 and my interview was supposed to be @ 11:30. Well I wasn't interviewed until an hour later. While walking with the HR person I found out that I was interviewing with a different manager in a different department of the hospital. I don't even remember applying for the job but it was there in black and white that I did on 12/5. I really thought it was my second interview for the position I applied and interviewed for in November. I was told that the manager is still trying to decide who she would like for that position. Should I send her an email? I left her 2-3 voice messages since my interview at the end of November. During the interview I didn't get a warm and fuzzy about it. I also had a bad frog in my throat from this dang cold. I'm going to send the manager that I interviewed with today a thank you email and pray for the best.

Yes, thank you letters via email are great. I do not think you need to call. If they interviewed you in Novemeber, you can also send them a thank you letter via email and inform them that you are still interested in the position. JMO, love ya. PS God got us all and will provide. It is really in these in between times it gets scarey. :grouphug: My day was :blah: I am still not feeling well. continue to pray for me and I do you all.

Not doing to good this morning. I am very sad


My husband called me last night at about 1130 and he sounded so sad. He said that he just wanted to let me know that he Loved me and really misses me and the kids, he stopped and it sounded as if he was crying. He told me that he was just very home sick and was tired and was ready to come home. I tryed to make him understand that we were fine and that I loved him and I was always going to be right by his side. I let him know that when i took my vows I met them, "For better or for Worse". I told him that he needed to be strong for me because I can't make it if I know that he is not doing good. So I told him that this is not going to last forever and that he would be back home to use before he knew it.


Once we got off the phone I set up in my bed and I couldn't stop crying. I just kept thinking about how lonely and scary this road is. Will I be able to make it? What is going to happen next? WHAT WHAT WHAT.

I was watching the movie Click the other day. I wish I could hold that remote just one time. LOL

I am sorry to go on like this but I guess this life can't help but to get you down sometimes.

Christina- I feel your pain. My husband does this every few months. Just continue to encourage him and let him know that you and the kids are fine. Sometimes we have to show them that we can handle it, even when we know that we are a mess and not handling things well at all. I pray that God sends both of you strength and peace.

Sorry for the rough day Christina. It is tough! My bf called today :( His bday card and "gift" didn't make it to him today which means he won't get it by his bday. He sounded depressed and I'm pissed it didn't make it there in time. My mail to him has been slow lately, but I sent this in time for him to get it!!! I'm so mad I didn't send it even earlier. Poor thing is alone on his bday and now he doesn't even have anything to remind him that I care!!! Just needed to scream!!!

Red's- My mail was slow too. My husband just received letters that I sent last Wednesday. I guess with the holidays and all they are taking their time with the mail.

Well ladies it seems as though I have committed myself and forgot that I committed myself. It looks like I'll be going to Allenwood and Saturday and then back again on Sunday. Hubby is going to love that, I can't say that I will as money isn't in great abundance and I need an oil change badly. When I return on Saturday I will post.

Well I won't be going tomorrow because the person I was taking cancelled. I'm a little relieved because I'm a bit tired and that's a lot of driving in two days, especially with me having the kids today.

NEW RULES AT ALLENWOOD LOW

1. We can no longer use the lockers. Everything must be kept in the car, including purses, hats, scarves, gloves, glass cases etc.

2. You are only allowed to bring in 1 car key to the car that you arrived in. All other keys must be left in your car.

For those who haven't been to the facility yet, here are some of the prices for food in the vending machines. $1.35 for soda, juice, water, $3.50 Wings, sandwiches, $2.50 Cheese pizza, macaroni and cheese, $1.25 king size m&ms, pastry cakes, rice krispy treats, $.85 for chips, $1.00 ice cream sandwich, $1.50 strawberry, chocolate ice cream stick, $1.75 mississippi mud ice cream sandwich. I would advise anyone that is going to bring atleast $10 per person when visiting all day.

I am better now. I spent some time with my Family on Saturday and they are very supportive and Sunday I went to church and came home and was in the bed watching TV all day it was so relaxing. Hey Ladies!

My interview yesterday witht he headhunter was great. He actually called me today for an interview tomorrow with a nationally known radiology clinic. This job from what I'm told has great benefits, especially if I stay there long term. I just pray that I get the right job for me.

As far as the changes: I was told they are going to implement random searches of visitors during visits. I'm waiting to hear more on this. According to the sheet that we fill out when we come in it seems legit, but I'm not too sure about it. I don't know about you all, but I don't want to be treated like an inmate. As I get more information I will let you know.

Hey Ladies!!!!! Wow no one has checked in all day :( I hope everyone is doing well. Mr. S. called me this afternoon and let me know that the random searching of visitors will be done. He said that they are trying to fight it, but is not sure if they will win.

Interview went great!! My interview was for 10:30, I met with the office manager at 11:00 and did not leave until 12:30. That was the longest interview I was ever on. Anyway, the office manager had a slip of the tongue and said "You will have no problem fitting in here. We will give you extra time to give your current employer notice and when you start you will be introduced to everyone." I was like "YES!" in my head. Prayerfully it was a true slip of the tongue. She also said that I should hearing something by next week. She also gave me a copy of their benefits package which is excellent. I just pray that this it. Well, I'm off to type up her "thank you" email.

Hey ladies, sry havent checked in. Yesterday was hard for me to process and also spend time with Sugar;) . Yes I had wonderful weekend full of bitter sweet. We had some discussions and another surrender on my part to be faithful during this bid. Yesterday I was feeling like lonely when I went to the resturant and had dinner alone. So for the first time I experienced the loneliness of an inmate's girl (fiancee). Yall feeling me? Also Pooja, I have seen ya also and you left two early for me to shout ya out. I was turning around showing boo our crew. He was like so pleased. He said "we got our own family going on". I was like yes, we support each other". Christina, I do pray you got home with the fam, I will not call ya tonight, will call tommorrow. And Red's yes it was crowded for 17 degree weather however no one was turned away or asked to leave. It is back to work for me. I called off on Monday so that I could stay and visit with my husband one more day. It was great until about 1230 that is when I started to get that sad feeling because I know the visit is going to be over soon and I won't see him for another 3 weeks. I am ok he called me twice yesterday while I was on the road and then he called me last night to make sure we got home safely and then he called me this morning to see if I was still sad. I love that man of mine :). He knows how to make me smile:D .


Sugar I haven't been on here in while and I was reading the postings and I seen yours about the job interview all I have to say is YOU GO GIRL!!!!!! That company would be crazy not to hire you :).

So we ending the call talking about he was going to speak to his mother about not telling him information. Hello Ladies.

I am new to this website and have been reading the information about the new visitation policy. I have a very close friend at Allendwood Low and have gone to visit him twice already! I am going to visit him on Friday and just wanted to know more about the changes to the search policy. Can someone provide me with some additional information especially as it relates to the ION scanner? The first time I visited, they scanned me with the ION scanner and everything turned out fine, but I have read many horror stories about all of the false positives so any information any of you ladies have would be great.

Hopeful- Sprint turned my dang phone off for some bogus charges, but it's back on now. I had to let the dog out of me to get it back on (LOL).

Red- I hope you can make it Valentine's weekend. I would love to meet you. If I end up coming this weekend I will let you know.

Bree- The ION scanner is still the same, they have no real rhythm as to who they scan. I just make sure I wash my hands and use some antibacterial on my hands before going in. I also wash whatever I plan to wear to visit the night before and take them out of the dryer in the morning, even if my clothes are already clean. The searches aren't going to start until February 19th. I wouldn't worry too much about them, especially if you have nothing to hide.

I just hung up with the headhunter that I'm working with and he is going to get me another interview for Thursday or Friday. He said that I am in the forefront for the other position, but they are still interviewing. I might as well keep looking until I am told I have the job. Who knows what other opportunities are out there for me.

Pooja- Girl you don't need to diet! I'm sorry you will be alone on your anniversary. Pretty soon you won't be alone any longer. Look at the bright side you'll be another anniversary closer to being in his arms.

My visit wasn't the greatest. As I stated my son cried his head off most of our visit. I was so embarrassed and felt like a bad mother. My son normally doesn't do that for as long as he did today. Hopefully next time I take him he won't act out so badly. My kids are only coming once a month for now on. I can't have a repeat of today. :(

Visit was great today! It is so nice having a three day visit tomorrow being the last :( I'll be back for Vday though :)

I looked the wings on my ww online and they aren't that bad. One pack 5 or 6 points. So that could be lunch lol but no snacking like the men do or the diet will be RUINED. The good thing w/WW though is that I get 35 extra points I can use on the weekends and when I'm in PA I will def have to use them. I did Quiznos tonight and a small honey bourban sub on wheat was only 6pts. I get a total of 20 pts a day pooja. If you have any questions I can look it up on the website and let you know. Red's, you are so right. It is hard to keep them entertained. I'm just glad that they are allowing 1 inmate in the play room at a time. That makes things easier when I bring the kids. I think I'll be sitting across from the play room every visit so then we won't have to stand at the door when another inmate is in there.

Pooja- I'm going to keep bringing him. I'll just keep it at once a month. He was fine just a tad jealous and sleepy.

I am trying to turn over a new leaf and not let stress bother me. This is going to be hard. I don't know what it is but my 14 year old has given me the blues. I don't know what to do with him. Any and everything he can do to get under my skin he does. He is in the 9th grade and he as failed the 1st semester. The school has a direct line to my cell phone LOL at least that is what it seem like. I just got a call from his French Teacher telling me that Christian doesn't have a book and that she gave him his 3rd set of books today. Now i owe her 95.00 As if i don't have other bills and things to worry about, NOW THIS :angry: :angry: :angry: .


I am not going to get mad I am going to relax for a second because I feel a headache coming on.

I am just so tired of him. I hate to say it but sometimes I hate to see him coming. He is stealing out of the house, he lies about everything. I don't know if he is acting out becasue his Dad is in the hands of BOP or what but I am at the end of my rope:argh:.

Sorry to go postal but I needed to vent. I guess that is no summer stuff for him that 95.00 has to come from somewhere.

I know your pain all too well. :help: :banghead: :argh: My 12 year old is in the 7th grade and has failed just about all of his classes too. :help: :banghead: :argh: I had to have my dad jump in to help me with him. I also have him going to the babysitter's house to get tutored by her husband who is a retired school teacher. It seems to be helping a bit. My son seems so angry all of the time and I don't understand it. Everyone seems to think it's his hormones. If he's not careful I'll be in state custody because I'm going to end up hurting him. Take a breather. It will get better. Maybe you can go to your local Big Brother/Big Sister office and get him a mentor. I know the one here offers it especially for children who's parents are incarcerated. Maybe try to incorporate another man in his life as well. Someone he can talk to abouat anything and not feel bad for feeling the way that he does. The teenager years are hard and I bet it's not easy with your dad gone. Well those are my suggestions. I hope that everything works out and that Christian straightens up. Maybe you should have your husband talk to him as well.:grouphug: :grouphug: This too shall pass. I'll be praying for your family.

If I ever decide to go on a Saturday and I get there around 9:30/10:00, will I be able to get in with no problem? or is the wait pretty long if you don't get there by 8:00?

Bree- It's not usually a long wait if you go on Saturday and Sunday. If it is crowded (normally just around major holidays). You will have to wait for them to have people leave. They normally do first in, first out. This past Saturday I didn't get there until 11 and had it not been for my son's pants we would have been in the visiting hall withing 10 minutes of arriving. The busier the better. LOL we can get away with more stuff the fuller the visiting hall is.

Ok lovie is not feeling well :blah: he caught cold yesterday. He still has to work tonight I do hope he is feeling better later. He also did not get a card and letter that I sent him last week :eek: . As usual, I ask him about stuff to enhance our sexual foreplay so I went to us having slumber party and taking pictures. Bree----the weekends are a lot more crowded than Fridays. I was amazed at how many people were NOT there this past Friday. It was so "dead" in there. It was really nice though :) I try to get there at 8 on the weekends b/c the lines can get long and if the men don't make it out before about 9:45 they get stuck for the 10oclock count and then it takes forever for them to get to the visiting room. Just my experience!

So I got in the car and ran to Meijers (Its about 5 minutes from my house) and got the printer dock and the tripod for my camera.
