Skunkette 10-26-2003, 10:34 AM Hello All,
I am a new member just found this site today (October 26, 2003). Was wondering if there are any people in Oklahoma or have a loved one in an Oklahoma Prison?
Hope I learn to get around this site soon.

Skunkette 10-27-2003, 06:12 AM Hello Idysirois, Thank you for the reply. Oh yes I know where Barnsdall is. Down 123. I am in Bartlesville. Do you visit your son often? How far is Granite from you? My fiance' is at Muskogee CCC now. It is GREAT. He was at Jess Dunn in Taft. It is 90 miles each way for our visits. Our visits are so wonderful now. It is like we are out in our very own backyard visiting. I am still trying to figure this site out. I posted you another message a few ago, but my screen went back to a blank post so I dont think it posted. So now I am trying again. Hope this one works. Have a Nice Day.

Skunkette 10-29-2003, 10:22 AM Hi Aliswifey, Thank you. I am in Bartlesville (originally from Tulsa actually) LOL Nice to meet you.
NoAirMan 10-29-2003, 01:47 PM Hi all! I live in Miami Oklahoma. I worked in Bartlesville for a while building the newest physacal rehab center for the Jane Phillips Medical center. I also did some rework to the patient tower. Actualy I was on the roof of that place when the WTC was hit. Some one told me that planes were hitting high rises and I said " Ya! Sure!" ... Sheesh! ... ... anyways! Miami is down 75 to route 10 . 90 minutes with a beer between your legs. ... I liked working there but I had to find work here in town because of a DUI. My fourth actualy! ... Will I ever learn? ... Yes I did. Thanks to wising up and? ... Well? Elavil. ... I think alot of us offenders do the things we do because of an impulsive disorder. I aint saying we B crazy! .. lol .. just? ... Well, We need to look at our selves and our behaviors and stop trying to fix some one else. inre: the cops, the judge, society, our parents, my third grade teachers cousins next door neigbors grocerie baggers next door neighbors aunt Ethel. etc! ... What gets my goat in prison is all the cons that talk the crap about how they have all been wronged. It aint the cops fault you manufacture meth in the hotel room! When I get busted, I know I screw up. I shouldnt have been doing what I did. And I knew all this when I did it. I didnt call my lawyer a bastard because I got arrested for beating two men down. I saw that one guys wife in the court room during my arrainment. I saw her eyes , and I knew I did wrong. I was sorry for what I did, not sorry for my self. ... sheesh! I have lots to say but I cant say it all in one post! ... over and out.
NoAirMan
Skunkette 10-29-2003, 02:50 PM I agree with you 100 %. Thanks for being honest. Hope all is well & good for you. I go to Miami for my Grandsons football games (PeeWee Midget). Have a Nice Day and dont be drinking and driving. LOL

MommaHen 10-30-2003, 08:44 AM Renee that is great news lex is only like 30 minutes from me or less I hope the best for you guys.
NoAirMan 11-01-2003, 06:13 PM Thanks for all the welcomes. Being an ex-con I dont make very many freinds. Call me a loner, I dont know. When you have a history it is hard to get close to people. I go to work every night, and I realy like my job, I work the graveyard shift, some might call me reclusive, but it is because I find my self pulling back from people just as I would in prison. Someone might offer me something, like a candy bar, and I refuse it. In incarceration, every wants somethin. and if you take something from someone you are expected to recipricate. We learn that nothing comes with out a price. I also have these times , while at work, where I might get pissd about things, and my first rebuting thought is, "this is better than prison." I wish it would all just go away, the mistakes I have made, I mean. Prison gives a misconseption of, you have to give or you are ging to take. There is no sharing. When you get out, it is the same way. If I meet a woman, my first thought is, can I have this woman?" I f not, I shun her. When I run into another man, I think, " Can I take this dude out?" Personaly, I am tired of being the tough guy, I wish I could just relax for just a moment. It seams like no matter where I go I still have that ex con mentality. We all feel like we better get them first before they have a chance of getting to us. ...
ldysirois 11-01-2003, 06:36 PM I"m so sorry you have those feeling's But, I do understand,I will sometimes here that from my son who like you try's very hard to over come the jail mentality, even while he is still in,Things do get better, you just got to keep trying. It is better than prison out here and like my son said if they look down on you, well then what are they hiding! Just look at them and smile, remember it was a mistake, but now it's a exp. Hold Your Head High you made it!!!!
wannamae 11-01-2003, 08:12 PM Hello new members in Oklahoma.
NoAirMan, you say it like my husband does.
Something for something. How long were you in for and is the adjustment very hard. Not the way others here on the outside treat you but your own thoughts.
I guess I am trying to ask you and try to see how my husband may react to the outside? I know that everyone is different but to get your opinion, of what you feel like.
My husband still has over a year to go for a parole hearing.
If you dont mind me asking?
shortstuff_13 11-12-2003, 11:28 PM NoAirman, alot of that will just slowly wear off cause its the self preservation snd survival conditioning working A frien of mine said he still stops for an instant at four for count cause of all those years doing just that. But he said its better now after 4 years so see-now the outside has to prove itself to you not the other way around. : )
whitewolf2751 11-13-2003, 02:45 AM Hello NoAirMan and of my fellow Okies!
I just wanted to hop in here and say, I appreciate your honest candor NoAirMan. My son, is now serving time inTX for felony DUI (or DWI) and has learned since his incarceraton that he was also 'self-medicating' all those years he was addicted to street drugs and alcohol and all the otehr things that brings with it.
He has now been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and has had a complete change in his thoughts, and even the way he looks at life since finally finding the right meds at the right dosage. He is the son I lost back many years ago again.
So I do understand what you were referring to with your use of alcohol in your earlier post. I have done it myself for my undianosed Anxiety Disorder. We live and learn!
As a teenager (many moons ago - ) I did almost 2 yrs in the Ok state girls reformatory. (It was asthetically called Girl's Town' back then...what a joke!) It was operated just like the State Prison System...complete with the bars, razor wire, and all negative stuff that goes with doing time.
Bad, bad place to be at the tender age of 13!
But when I was released it was really hard for me to 'adjust' to being free again and i ws also shunned by my peers. But you lose so much while you're in. Everything is the same every day..your simple process through the routines while things are constantly on the mve and changing in the free world. Then when your free you are sometimes just over-whelmed with the 'busi-ness' of life.
I think the one thing I will always remember about it though, and I am a 'granny' now, is the sheer joy of simply being FREE. I remember I got a thrill out of just being able to walk in and out of my parents house anytime I wanted to. Have you experienced that?
So yep, regardless of what stress you run into at work, on the streets whatever...stop, and think before you react because anything out here beats the heck out of being locked up!
Good luck and hang in there.! :)
NoAirMan 11-16-2003, 12:10 AM Hello everyone. No! I am not locked up again! Bean working my butt off 7 days a week. Finaly got tonight off. Yeehaw! lol! Sound Okie enough for ya'all? hehehe! I dont remember if I mentioned this or not, but I was born and raised in Massachusetts. I also lived (and did time) in Nevada, California, Arizona and New Mexico. I was asked 'How much time I did". I would rather not add it all up, because if I do, I will only get depressed about all I might have missed in that time in my 40 something years of age. Like I said earlier, I still have those thoughts, the ones, when things aren't going exactly to my liking, when I tell my self, 'well? at least I'm not in prison!' Maybe that is a good thing. it makes lifes minor ordeals seem almost bearable.
I heard from my brother today. The one I was speaking of when I found this site. he is alive and well in Modesto! ... He just got out on a parole violation .His PO violated him and he got a year for drinking. Sheesh! ... He aint been out but 5 after doing 13 on a 30. Christ! Will we NoAirMan brothers ever learn?????
Skunkette 11-16-2003, 04:11 AM Its great that you found your brother and that he also is now out. Sorry to hear that you are working so much but I'm sure it keeps your mind off of other things. It sounds as if all is going well for you and I hope that it continues to. May God Bless and Keep You.
ldysirois 11-16-2003, 06:45 PM Wow Modesto welp that was one of my area's long ago, glad to here your doing ok and keep up the good work....
MommaHen 11-17-2003, 09:50 AM Glad to hear you are doing on NoAirMan and happy you found your brother and came back to see us!!!
PiesGurl_2128 12-08-2003, 01:15 PM mine is at Bill Johnson Correctional Center in Alva, Ok!
NoAirMan 12-08-2003, 01:37 PM Eastern OK here .. Talk to me ...
NoAirMan 12-08-2003, 02:45 PM Ya know whitewolf, Your son sounds like an inteligent guy. We, and I mean we alcoholics, tend to get drunk so that we can go out and 'make-believe' we are someone that we know we are not. I remember my youth, i thought of my self as a bit of a gang leader, dont get me wrong! so did "My gang", but when I wernt home, my mom was boss! .. Lol! Now that I look back, maybe it was my mom that realy fronted "May Street."
ldysirois 12-09-2003, 11:58 AM Hey guys hows all doing I'm in the middle of computer problems Hope to have it cleared SOON!!!!!!!!!!
Skunkette 12-09-2003, 12:17 PM Hello Idysirois, Alls well here. My sweetheart is still at Muskogee Community and doing great. How is your son doing? Hope all is well with you and that you get your computer problems fixed soon.
supremom 01-16-2004, 06:01 AM Hi, my honey is at Lexington A n R and he just said something about possibly going to Granite last nite! I hope not , thats eight hours from Muskogee! AAAAughh.
I'm hoping he stays a little closer as I have a brother in Edmond and could use that as a home base instead of doing a turn around trip. I wouldnt mind so much about the distance as I know some drive quite a ways, but am a college student with two small children. PRAY he stays closer!

MommaHen 01-16-2004, 02:39 PM Hello and welconme to our little corner of cyber space. Glad to hear you are out and working on getting your life straight.
MommaHen 01-16-2004, 02:41 PM Supermom I will pray that he stays closer. I understand the hassles of the drive I am a single mom of two and luckily I am in OKC so don't have to worry quite so bad on where he goes. but even 2 hours gets old after awhile.
