Does anyone know, were the phones out yesterday (12/12) at Parchman? Or do you know if the Ice Storm has effected them? My man is in unit 32B, and he was supposed to call yesterday and didn't. It's not like him not to, so I was wondering if there were mitigating circumstances. :(

I hope someone comes by who knows more.. I do not THINK the ice storm has affected MSP but I am not real sure..In other words I really know nothing to help you but HOPEFULLY you will get a call soon. This is the time of the year that "lock downs" seem to happen a lot. God Bless.. Keep us posted...

Thanks I-Care. Well...here's the update and I'm really upset; Oh man....I need some information. My honey tried calling me (I guess as a "make up" call) last Friday night but I wasn't home and the calls went straight to my answering machine. He called again tonight (I wasn't expecting him to call) and I wasn't here, but my younger brother was here doing his laundry and he picked up the phone and pressed 3 to accept the call. (He said he was going to tell him I wasn't home and to call back), but my brother said hello about 3 times and my honey never responded, so my brother hung up! (He knows now not to answer the calls from Parchman), but my question is, does that count as a call? Will he get to try again this week? How many calls do they get per week in Unit 32-B? I'm really stressing because my brother doesn't understand about those calls, and I know my honey is probably going "W.T.F???" and I'm hoping he remembers my brother comes over here sometimes and doesn't think I've got another man up in here. I'm so stressed out I can't eat. HELP!!

I can not say for MSP but where my love one is it is the amount ( dollars) of calls that are allowed each month. If MSP has a rule about how many calls they can make I just have never heard of that. Maybe if he is a certain custody and the gaurds have to bring him to a phone he would be limited huh??? I do hope he gets through to you soon and also I always let the machine tell all the prompts because I am afraid they will change the prompts and I may push the one to "block calls" so I listen to all that garbage each time the call comes in just to be 100% sure. My love one gets annoyed with me about that but at times they HAVE changed the prompts to accept a call or block a calll. I SURE do not want to make that mistake.

Thanks I-Care. Yeah, they do bring the phone to his cell. He's not allowed out yet to make calls. They just recently moved him from 32-C to 32-B. He called me back tonight!! I guess when my brother answered he hung up, so they let him call me again. I'm so glad because he didn't think about that being my little brother and he said he couldn't sleep all night and didn't eat today because he was so upset. He didn't know who that was and he was worried. I feel really bad. But everything is okay now and we are good. He says that they are making all kinds of changes where he is and that soon he might get his contact visits reinstated. Cross your fingers!
