Does anyone know why they have removed the GTL prepay from the ADC Website? Seems as if it was running for about two weeks and now it is no longer available.

Bat I do know that where the caller ID did show a different number when my son calls home, it now shows as DOC on the caller ID. Even though we pay thru the GTL advance pay with western union.

Let me tell you why...but first of all let me start by saying GTL sucks!!! Please give me MCI back. At least with MCI you could look at your account on the internet, you could usually talk to a person within a reasonable amount of time. I am currently on hold waiting to talk to a GTL representative and I have been waiting for 32 minutes. This British bitch is really starting to piss me off. I've been trying to reach them since Saturday and 32 minutes ago is the first time I've actually been given the opportunity to hold. For 3 days I've been told they were too busy to take my call and I'd have to call back. I'm trying to call now because wonderful GTL has lost yet another one of my payments. The first on they lost was when I used the wonderful link on the ADC website. ADC graciously took my money and supposedly sent in to GTL however it never made it to my prepaid account???? I've raised hell with ADC and GTL and neither acronym has seemed to be able to give me an answer as to where my money is. All I know is it is gone from my checking account. That was on November 8th. After the third call to ADC they informed me that they are "having problems" with the link...NO SHIT!!!! Now I've made another payment through the automated system on Saturday and guess what???? The money is gone from my checking account, again, but I still don't have it posted to my prepaid account. IMAGINE THAT!!!! I'm sorry, the question was why was the link removed...I doesn't work. That's the answer. Sorry for the "shortness" but I am so mad right now. To make matters worse my hubby has to flu, in prison, and I can't even get his calls. Well, I've been holding for 43 minutes. According to my British friend, "calls are answered in the order in which they are received, please hold for the next available agent." I give up...

Yes the same happened to my daughter in law. 100 dollars taken from her account that is still to show up in the account. I had to go into the website and do advance prepay throught Western Union just so they could talk. Even though on a 25 dollar deposit they charged $9.50, at least it showed up in the account within 4 hours. We are being escrewed by GTL royally. And they must think we are a bunch of idiots (well maybe we are for letting them do this to us). But if you want to talk to an inmate in Arkansas, you have to put up with their BS. I hate that they pretended to be lowering cost for the inmate's family but then tacked on big arse fees for using credit or debit cards. $9.50 on a $25.00 deposit? UNREAL.

The one time I used the link through the ADC, it did work. However, They have taken two $25.00 deposits through their phone system since last Thursday and cashed a check from me in a larger amount on Dec. 3rd and none of these payments have been given credit. I have tried to call, only to be cut off, put on hold for way to long or the one time I did get a call back it was from someone who had no idea what was going on. I am also very frustrated with GTL. I have asked them in an email (at least I can write but who knows if they actually read them) to send me a statement of my account.

If I have not heard from them in the next couple of days, I plan on writing to the state Atty. Gen. This may not be worthwhile but at least it will give me some small satisfaction.

I would encourage everyone having problems with GTL/ADC telephones to use the http://www.etccampaign.com/etc/index.php website to generate letters and comments. It is easy to use and takes only a few minutes to generate a letter to the people who must know how awful we are being treated.

I have to say I have been having problems with my gtl prepaid account. It seems like way too much money is disappearing and not that many calls are being made. But how do you prove it? I called GTL and was eventually able to talk to someone. They told me your calls add up to this you added this amount and this is how much the fees cost. I asked them to send me a statement on my account so we will see. I hate to give up my phone calls. :mad: They told me my calls are 8.65 for a 15 min phone call. That just sucks. Why are phone companies allowed to rip us off like this? It shouldn't matter who we are calling or who is calling us. It's a freaking phone call for christ's sake!

I know with his mom's phone she is getting charged the 5.27. The calls from the jail are billed differently then the calls from prison. The best I can remember they came out of Louisiana but I can't remember the name of the company. And yes they were higher.

He keeps telling me county is more expensive. I can't wait for him to get transferred. Hopefully he will be transferred soon. I want 4 hours with him. I'm sick of this 15 mins a week and high phone bills.

Where I live in Arkansas we don't have Verizon service. But I don't see why you couldn't. I don't think it matters what cell phone carrier you have.

I bet your calls are expensive! I complain about my calls being 8.64! Why are these calls so stinking expensive? It's crazy. Don't they realize the cheaper the calls are the more we will talk, which means more money for them. Phone companies suck!:angry: :angry: :angry: :angry:

I see where you were able to post money for phone & inmate's account in the same place a while back.

I have been using Global Tel Link and by doing it thru Western Union. The cost went from $4.50 up to $9.50 like overnight.

If we put money on an inmates account will they be able to pick up the phone and call collect with the money on their account?

Please advise...
