View Full Version : Parchman - Protective Custody?
SabineB 11-24-2007, 04:40 AM My friend is on Unit 32 C, but his sentence was changed into LWOP. His lawyers told us he will likely be moved. Now I wonder if Parchman has a protective seg. If they would send him to the open camp, he would die within 24 hours!
The guy who stabbed the other inmate was the leader of a gang in there, and he had 5 years back a bad argument with my friend. He tried to stabb him too on the day he killed this other man, but he couldn't open the cell door. Other gang members tried it too as they where in the yard, but a guard could catch them before they could stabb him.
The gang members told him they would kill him as soon as they can get him! He needs to go to protective seg. but I couldn't find any information about it and don't know if Parchman has such a Unit. Does someone know more about it?
Lesliezack 11-24-2007, 05:21 AM Any prison I have ever heard about has protective custody... I don't know about all, But I would assume they do....
he needs to ask for it.
dulcinea 11-28-2007, 09:25 AM Parchman Unit 29-G is PC. My friend is there and is PC along with at least a couple dozen other PC guys. They do, however, have some contact with C custody guys too.

Yes they do. My son is on Admid PC and is in Unit 29-G.Dulcinea's right they do have some contact with C-custody guys my son says the same thing. But the powers that be tell a whole different story. Many conflicting information coming out of this unit. I'd have your guy ask a.s.a.p. for PC considering his situation.
Hello everyone,
To enlighten you on a few things, my ex-husband is a Lt. at Unit 29. Yes, it's true that PC has little or no contact with other offenders. There are in single cells and from my understanding, they have changed some of the rules, they only let a few out at a time due to some confusions. Not much movement goes on from 4pm-1030 pm on 3rd watch. So hopefully your love one will not come in contact with his enemies.
chickletone 11-29-2007, 10:04 AM From what a few of us have heard, some of our loved ones haven't been able to have rec since July 24th.
I haven't heard anything like that but I will be sure to ask my ex about it, as soon as I hear something I will let everyone know.
SabineB 12-07-2007, 05:01 AM Thank you very much for the information everyone! This is very important to me, because he doesn't know what to say or to ask for when it comes to the move, and he's not able to care for himself.
I hope they have as less contact with other offenders, because no one knows who a member of this gang is or not.
Fox, would you please tell me a bit more about the conditions / daily routine on this unit if possible? I'm sure my bro wants to know a bit about it.
THX !!!
FelinesNWines 12-19-2007, 11:05 PM I can tell you that my man who lives in 32-B has rats everywhere around him. (Yes, the little furry kind). He says there are rats everywhere and nobody does anything about them. He said the other night the rats were crawling on him while he was sleeping and he awoke to one of them running away. The conditions in that prison are inhumane and unsanitary. I don't understand why the ACLU hasn't done something about it. This is ridiculous. I wonder who you have to contact to get something done? Notice how none of the news shows ever does a show on Parchman? You know, the shows like 20/20, MSNBC Lockup, National Geographic, etc.? I'll bet it's because they won't let them in, and I'll bet it's because of the basic living conditions. This is horrible!!
SabineB 12-20-2007, 05:13 AM This sounds terrible! As far as I know obligated a court??? (don't know exactly who it was...) Parchman to fix all these things, but they refuse. No money, you know. We'll take a little while until we're finish, but we'll create a Myspace about Parchman and all the terrible things inside these walls. I'll post the link as soon as we're finish, and relatives of inmates are welcome to speak there (anonymous if prefered) about their experiences.
