dreanluis 11-22-2007, 02:07 AM Hello! Im sorry no one responded sooner. I guess we are all busy! :) .... Well i visit my honey every two weeks. And the first couple of times (like in early october) it wasnt bad i mean i was in like after 45 min maybe even less. But now since no one is on lock down its a ridiculous (and i seriously mean ridiculous) wait! THere are lines for EVERYTHING. Some of the cos are helpful, while others are not. Basically just follow every every rule to the line and you will be fine. They can be picky at times and other times be flexible, so its better to be safe than sorry! They do cancel visits when the rooms get full so the early people are asked to leave (depending on how far you come). Also, lately they have been canceling visits so i suggest you try to get there after 9:30am. Well i hope i answered your questions, if anything let me know!
jmbaby 11-22-2007, 04:01 AM I visit Solano. It is pretty relaxed in the visiting room. The CO's are cool in processing and the visiting room. As long as you follow the rules they will not bother you. When there is a lockdown there's usually no line. When there is no lockdown then there is a huge line. Be prepared for those days. If you call the 800 number it will tell you if there is a lockdown. They do terminate visits when the visiting room is packed. If it's been more than 45 days since you last visited your loved one, they will not terminate your visit no matter how packed the room is or if you traveled more than 250 miles. Overall compared to other prison visiting line drama Solano is relaxed.
Tricksie2645 11-23-2007, 11:30 AM I visit Solano. Mostly the CO's are friendly and helpful, but they can also get a little cranky sometimes. As to the lines, yes...there are lines and waiting for everything. I have waited anywhere from 30 mins to almost two hours just to be processed. In the visiting room we use, the wait for vending machines and microwaves has been as long as two hours. Yesterday, it was only a few minutes. They usually start terminating visits (early arrivals) around noon, and then sometimes again an hour or so later. They are pretty relaxed in the visiting room itself, though. Just follow the rules and I don't think you will have any problems.
meximami707 11-27-2007, 12:24 AM aite, thanks ladies, how about the whole number things? ive seen that in some prisons ur ass has 2 get a number then u can go visit and lining up at 12am 2 get a number crazie huh.. n e ways n e 1 lemme know thanks yall
Tricksie2645 11-27-2007, 06:51 PM You can't get a number until after you get in and parked. Then you have ot wait under the awning. Periodically an officer will come out and hand out visiting slips. Each one is numbered. Then you have to wait for your number to be called to go inside for processing. The worst part is the waiting. There is little shelter and almost no protection from the wind, so if it's cool, dress warm. Only handicap people are allowed to wait inside.

Tricksie2645 11-29-2007, 09:49 AM There is a friends trailer, but it is at the far end of the parking lot, so if you stay in there, you have no way of knowing what numbers they are calling. They do have clothes you can borrow and do some daycare, hold your cell and keys, etc. They usually call 5 to 10 numbers at a time, so the wait varies on how many officers are processing, and how fast they do it.
