My brother was transferred this week from AL to JB Evans. I thought JB was a women's facility. Can anyone tell me if this is a temporary before moving to Pine Prairie or is it permanent. I would like to know before I start sending mail.

JB Evans is a women's facility unless something has changed that we don't know about. I did find this on ADOC website so they must house males too. Hope this helps, you could call the facility to find out.
ADOC continues to house 136 male inmates at the Perry County Detention Center in Uniontown, Alabama, and 141 male inmates at the J.B. Evans Correctional Facility in Louisiana, both owned and operated by LCS Corrections Services. All male inmates are expected to be returned to ADOC facilities by mid March, 2008.
