My name is Patrick and a picked up a P# in California in 1999 I've finally discharged it I no longer have parole.I do however find it diffuclt to get any type of assistance I was released with 92 dollars I have no where to go and no where to live the 92 dollars got me back to San Fransico but know I have nothing I cant get into a halfway house because I am no longer on parole I cant get housing assistance because im no longer on parole so my only option is to stay at a shelter the prablem there is you have to be there by 6pm to sign in and you cant keep anything there so How can I go back to work to get myself back into society when I'm caght in this catch22.
I would think there would be some type of program to re intergrate me into society so I dont reoffend but it seems its extremely more diffucult off parole then it was on, I had more options.
If anyone knows of a program in the Bay area that could assist me I would be extremly greatfull for any and all advise.
Thanks
Patrick

Your parole officer should have given you some resources. Check back in or look in the phone book for free counseling. I'm sure there must be info out there for you. Stay positive!
I'm not in your area but I'll say a prayer for you!
Best wishes.

If you can get to Vallejo there's a place called Genesis House which provides assistance, housing, and job placement. Call information or ask your PO to connect you with the organization. Good luck.

There is a place also in Santa Rosa, Redwwod Gospel Mission on Wilson/6th ave. Downtown area. They are pretty good there, and will help with getting you work and living. You need to be accepted in the program, but they do emergency shelter too.
Good Luck

It is a shelter, but staff here will help you find something better and assist you in finding employment.
