View Full Version : Sending Christmas Card to CTF
Do I have to go thru one of those approved vendors to send a Christmas card to my love in CTF?
May I send the custom made print out christmas card that I made on my computer as a regular mail..? Since we are allowed to send web page print outs, I am assuming that the print out pictures and greetings are ok.. Since the letter I send him takes about 3-4 weeks for him to recieve, I am planning to send this by end of this month... Please help..
You can send as many Christmas cards as you want! The only rules is that they're not supposed to have stickers on them, glitter, or be the musical kind. But plain old normal cards are just fine. And you can definitely send what you're describing from your computer--that won't be a problem at all.
I send cards all the time, for holidays and just because. Don't worry at all about it!
Dear JMK,
WoW! thank you so much :)
This has helped me out A LOT! and I am so excited now that I know I can send stuff that I created. Thank you!
It's always nice to give someone good news! As long as what you print is no bigger than a regular piece of paper, it should be fine. I've sent in all kinds of things from the computer, including Christmas decorations on cardstock for him to cut out and tape together. The possibilities are endless! Have fun with it.

I've found some great stuff on the HP Activity Center site ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/activityCenterHome?lc=en&cc=us ). They have all kinds of do-it-yourself projects for every holiday. You can print them out on whatever paper you have, and then mail them in. The guys just need scissors and tape. I've found really fun stuff there! They have everything from decorations to cards to picture frames, etc, and everything prints on your home printer. Happy exploring!

That is awesome! Thank you so much for the great ideas~! I am just having so much fun creating something for him and soo excited for him to receive them also:) Question... they can have scissors and tapes with them...?? The reason for my question is because he always asks me to send him wallet size pictures for him to put it in his wallet... I assumed that "I" have to cut the pictures into wallet size and send it to him...
ILoveLeo 11-13-2007, 02:30 PM I wanted to send my guy a Thanksgiving card but maybe its too late for that. The mail is so slow over there :-( I am not quite sure on the "scissor issue" maybe that would depend on their security level.I have received newspaper clippings from my cutiepie so maybe they are allowed I am not sure on that one though.Im sure they can get real creative though as far as pics are concerned as far as getting them to fit in a wallet.HTH Cari
Yeah, I don't know that they're allowed to have their own scissors (and probably aren't), but I think they're easy to get access to either through a work assignment or hobby programs. And, like ILoveLeo said, they are very creative and I'm sure have a million ways to cut things they need to without scissors!
Thank you for the reply~ I c... I haven't talked to him so.. I don't know these things unless he saids it on his letters so:) good to hear what it is like from others.. One last curiousity question.. He sent me a birthday card on my birthday...How did he and how can he get a actual greeting card from inside...? The card looked like he went out somewhere and selected himself too... just wondering..
They can buy blank cards from canteen. You can also order them from some of the quarterly package vendors to be included in their boxes.

And sometimes they trade or buy from other inmates so you don't get back a card you sent into him:thumbsup:
