Hi, my name is Debbie. I am a 38 yo WF currently living in the Alexandria area. My fiancee is in the county jail awaiting sentencing and there is a pretty good chance he will be going down the road. I have been though this before without much support so I am interested in meeting other people in the NoVA area in hope that will make this difficult time a bit easier. Im really glad I found this site.

Im also from Northern VA. My husband is at Middle River. We are from Loudoun County. He has been locked up for almost 4 months. He has his Inditement next week then will be sentenced 90 days after that. This has been a nightmare for me and my family, but mainly for me.

I also live in NOVA and my boyfriend is in Culpeper which is only like an hour away with my driving. He gets on in 2010!!! But he's been in there for 3 years already and time has been going by pretty fast so I think these last 2 and a half years are going to go by pretty quick too. I'm only 19 so by the time I turn 21 he'll be here!!!! So I figure that won't take long to come so it makes me happy!

It really helps to know there are others going through the same thing. I am glad I stumbled on this website

Welcome. You will find lots of support here. I live in Fauquier County, my fiance is in Chesapeake. He's been down 3 years - 13 months to go.

Hi Debbie - I reside in WV, but I am from the Northern VA area. My loved one is in Greensville Correctional Center, he has 2 1/2 years left. He's been in for about 9 years now. He's been at several facilities so if you need any advice of have any questions, please feel free to ask. Remember to always think positive thoughts.

Never having been through this before, I was very confused and had a lot of questions when my husband was first arrested. I've found many answers here and everyone is very supportive of each other. I'm sorry you're going through this difficult time.

So I see that I am a few months late with this post but.....

I lived with my husband in Arlington and Washington for a year until he was arrested 10-07. And after realizing I couldn't handle cost of living there by myself I moved back to Ohio to be with family. Al was in the county jail in Washington and in Arlington he is now in FCI Petersburg Low

I'm in Frederick County, Va but my husband is in a regional jail in southwest Va. He will be moving soon to a prison. I am hoping he gets moved somewhere closer like Coffeewood (is that right? Coffee something...) or that Caroline one...

My man was locked up for 3yrs but i stuck by him and we have been together everyday since hes gotten out... and its been 2yrs. I wish you the best the only challenge is they have to work harder for everything because of thier criminal record...

My baby is now in Powhatan Reception waiting to be shipped, confused about all this stuff...but we are hopin he'll be shipped someplace close to home.

my guy was just moved to pocahontas which is about 5 hours from where we live...i think. he was only an hour and a half away for processing at mecklenberg. i hear that is a really good one (still prison though) for them to go to. it has all kinds of programs and classes and that sort of thing. i feel like it gives them something to do, sitting around thinking about our entire family all day would eventually drive any guy crazy. anybody need to talk...let me know. we are all in the same boat here.

Wow! It's nice to see so many people close to me. I'm in Falls Church (right outside Fairfax County). My fiance was just taken to Powhattan Reception Center. He is serving Life and I am still in shock (it has been a year and a half since he was arrested). I would absolutely love to make some local friends!
