Going to Yanton FPC, what clothes can I bring, what is issued what about meds, currently on meds now daily. am a self surrender whats the best way to do so, is there a special entrance? Is there a phone number I can call a get a list of what I can bring in and whats allowed etc? need answers in hurry will need to be there in NOV. any help will be appreciated. Hawk

Frist welcome to PTO Hank, I don't have any answers for you, SORRY. Hopefully someone will come by with some.

(1) what clothes can I bring:
>>>> None, in fact the clothes that you wear in will be sent back home. You will be dressed out in their (Yankton's) institutional uniform. They will probably give you anywhere from 3 - 5 sets of the same uniform. I would suggest that you wear a decent pair of underwear/boxers as you 'might' be allowed to keep those. Everything else will go back home, shoes and all. I would also suggest that you bring in enough money to purchase some necessities; i.e., tennis shoes (they will give/issue you work boots), gym shorts, sweat pants/shirts, tolietries, radio, watch, etc.

(2) what is issued:
>>>> You will get a basic uniform (3-5 sets), towel, washcloth, bedding, and a few essential tolietries.

(3) what about meds:
>>>> You will not be able to bring in any of your medications. I would recommend that you write down each prescription/dosage and bring that it. It wouldn't hurt if you could bring a 'copy' of your recent, and/or, most important medical documents/records.

(4) am a self surrender whats the best way to do so:
The USM usually tells you to report either at 12 noon, or at 2:00pm. I would recommend 12 noon, so that you will be out of R&D (Receiving and Discharge) before the 4pm count.


(5) is there a special entrance?
