Hey all -
My fiance just got sent to the hole for suspected battery on an inmate - can anyone tell me what it's like in there at Solano? Everything else at Solano seems very laid back, I'm wondering who has had a man in Ad Seg there and what they had to say about it?
thanks.

Hi, my son just spent 60 days in SHU at Solano. He said it isn't all that bad. He had yard three times a week for like three hours at a time. There were others on yard at the same time, so it isn't like solitary. Other than that I think they are locked down two to a cell most of the time. No packages, no phone. The worst was that they only got a couple of pieces of paper each per week. I was able to send stamps and stamped envelopes from the Postal Service, and also was able to send him some note cards from there. They don't get to have any of their personal property and of course all visits are non-contact and you have to call to make an appointment for those. You can only call a couple of hours a day, and should start on Monday for the upcoming weekend. Hope that helps. Here is the link that will give you the info about making the visiting appointments: http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1942309&postcount=6

thanks for the info. I had just sent him his quarterly package and he got it the day before he go put into SHU - what will happen to that stuff - will he get it when he gets out or will it have 'disappeared'?

Well, it's supposed to be put into storage and he's supposed to get it back when he gets back into general population...but I don't know how long that takes. My son has only been out a little over a week and he doesn't have any of his property yet. He says he has to wait until the right officer is on duty? Anyway, I'll post when I find out about that. Also, they get to go to store once a month with a max of $45.

okay - thanks again for the info. Makes me so mad because I just spent over $200 for warm clothes, food, etc ... and I just know how things sprout legs and walk away in there. What a waste!!! Hope your son gets his property back soon too.
