I just got off the phone with my husband and I am fuming!! They have OFFICIALLY cancelled 1/2 of all visits!! The visits are now 3 hours each twice a month for ALL inmates. I am so angry I could scream!!

How often were you getting to visit him before? My fiance is in Easterling and we only get visits every other week for 5 hours. I hate to hear they have decreased your visits.

It was different for different dorms but mine was 4 visits of 3 hours each, and most of population had 2 visits of 6 hours each. Now everyone at Limestone gets 6 hours a month!!

cember.....do the visits still start at seven thirty in the morning? I am supposed to go for a visit this weekend. I have not been there for awhile and have not heard about this. Please let me know as soon as you can. I need to know. I am going to talk with him about getting a divorce. I am so tired of dealing with all this prison stuff.

It's supposed to be effective November 3rd.. so you should be OK for this weekend..

Oh I hate that Cember. Thats one of the only things I have to look forward too. So, I can imagine how I would feel if that happened at Easterling. And Still Married I am so sorry! However, I understand how frustrating this all can be. You are in my prayers.

It's probably because of all the new people tranferred in. The line was longer than usual last time.

Are they going to start having two visits to help with the overcrowding? Maybe one in the morning and one in the afternoon?

From what my brother told me, it's a visit from 7-10am 3 letters of what visits that day (LMN) and then 11-1pm (OPQ). Not exactly sure if the all have 6 letters but he said that they were halving the letters and they would rotate the visiting hours. I think he said that our 1st visit in Nov would be from 11-1pm and then the Sunday would be 7-10am.

I just got back from a visit and I can see why they are cutting the visit to just three hours. I got there at six fifty and I did not get into the visitation yard until ten thirty. I have never not gotten in before, but they reached capacity and would not let us in. It was horrible, so I only got to visit three hours anyway. I always usually go at the same tiime and I have never been in the eighties, but I was today. So hopefully the visits will be better and we won't have to wait in line so long.

I know this is older but I am so disappointed to read about this. We are still trying for transfer back to Limestone and one of the things I was looking forward to was being able to have "normal" 5-6 hour visits again so this is terrible news. Unfortunately 3 or less hours is now what I'm used to so I guess is he does get transferred I won't know the difference.

Cutting visitation hours is really tough on those of us out of state who have to drive 5 and 6 hours for a visit. Of course after this long dealing with ADOC I know they don't care, but anyway.... sigh.
