Hi everyone this is a Question for the ladies whose man has been at T.H. long meaning over a year. What happens around xmas in the prison any thing speacial happens, also in terms of sending letters any exceptional this time of the year just curious. With the distance in my case....thank you all in advance.:D

This will be my first Christmas with my guy in there so I am not sure if anything special goes on. I am going to be sending him some books and get him a pair of glasses that he wants from an outside source that they let them have in there. If I find out that you can send anything special or anything like that I will let you know.

you can't send anything more than you would before, i mean you can order books and stuff but it's the same as any other day of the year...i believe they do get "better" meals at the holidays. i think they get like pie and stuff too

you really can't send anything special but my guy told me that they get extra minutes more in November and December to use the phone instead of 300 something minutes its upgraded to 400 something minutes.

I just visited my mom over the weekend and she told me they are getting a whopping box dinner for thanksgiving and christmas. WHOO HOO!!! She said a group of ladies that she spends time with are going to draw names and do like a secret santa... you know like leave a candy bar on their pillow, a card, a little note or something like that. I am getting her daily subscription to our newspaper.. the gift that continues to give! LOL!! Its kind of tough thinking up things to send when everything is limited. I also thought about sending her a hard back book from the publisher of course.. something new... i also thought of doing a picture collage due to the limited amount of pics they can possess. She was hard to shop for before she went in and now it is near impossible!!! And yes they are supposed to get 400 minutes for the months of november and december..

yeah the 400 minutes go by just as fast as the 300 though haha...i remember last year it didnt even feel like we had 100 more minutes. funny thing is if they ship him off to court we may not get our minutes..he was sad too! haha he goes "but if i go to the jail i won't have our 400 minutes" i laughed and said "you are going to that jail to find out your fate on whether or not you can come home to me and you are concerned about our 400 minutes?" he laughed :-D
