I received a letter from my husband today and I guess one of the young boys stole his boots while he was sleeping the other night. I say young boys because that is what he has been put in with at Varner. He hates it since he has been there before. My question is why steal something that has already been provided to you. Everyone has to wear the same thing so why steal something you already have? Just to make someone else more miserable than they already are. I guess it just goes to show you that that kid has not learned anything yet. If my husband wasn't so worried about his good time he would probably find out who this kid was and teach him a lesson but since the better he behaves the sooner he will get out. He just wants to keep to himself, do his time, and come home. I know a person has to prove them selves when put into a situation like this, but stealing from someone that you're going to be locked up with for a while doesn't sound very smart to me. Especially to someone who has been there before. I guess I just needed to vent a little. These guys have it so hard in there and then comes along someone who wants to make it even harder.

nickslove,

Come on this is prison. They are theives. I was there I know first hand. If he has been there before he knows the drill. Some of the guys there will steal the crack out of your butt. He obviously knows what he is doing. He will be OK. Keep your head up.

Yep, he knows the drill, it's just an annoyance to him. I talked to him last night and he had a new pair that night. And i know how hard it is for him to keep his temper in tact when someone does something to him. I know that there will always be someone trying to start trouble with him and I know that he won't fight back until it comes to someone physically trying to harm him. He wants to earn all of the good time he can so that he can come home soon. thanks for the words of encouragement.

Don't worry. It will all work out. I promise. Just know that you have friends here. You will get through this and it will make you stronger.
