My son will be going to Texarkana soon to serve a nine-month sentence. He has special health needs. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows anything about the unit.

Hello. My boyfriend is in currentely in Texarkana and let me just tell you thank god they are there and not anywhere else. Matt obviously is having a rough time being away from me and his family but I do not have to worry about his health nor safety. I have been down there and the guards seem somewhat nice and what not. Where do you live? Maybe we could carpool together sometime. Hope to hear from you.

Thanks for the replies. I live in central AR, missNmatty, so carpooling wouldn't work out. I wonder why they didn't keep your guy in the NWACCC. That's a very long drive from Rogers to Texarkana.

My son went in last Friday. Not having heard from him, I called the Texarkana unit yesterday. They told me he won't be allowed to make phone calls for 45 days. But, I put a MO in the mail to him so he can write me. I didn't ask about visitation, but I assume he can't have visitors for 45 days, either.
