I am writing this with a heavy heart...My sister was incarcerated to Tutwiler approximately 2 weeks ago....Well, she was sickly before she went in and wasn't feeling well at all..........She called my mother last night to inform us that the medical doctor on staff had diagnosed her with terminal liver cancer..:( ....What are the steps, if any, of trying to get her out earlier to get better medical care?? He told her the longest he has seen anyone live with liver cancer is 3 years...She is so scared and alone in there...I don't want her to pass away at all but I sure don't in prison...

Also, I'm not sure of the exact date she went in but when can I visit her?.....She needs me and my family now more than ever and it breaks my heart I can't see her and at least tell her I love her. I'm crying as I type this, I never imagined cancer killing her, the drugs yes, but cancer no...I'm so worried, any help is appreciated....If any of y'all believe in God and the miracles of prayer, PLEASE pray for her...Thank Y'all Muchly~~ God Bless Y'all ALL!

outdoorsygal...i will keep you and your sister in my thoughts and prayers...usually, it takes a few weeks to set up her visitation list, they should let her know when it is approved. As far as getting her an earlier release maybe talk to an attorney and since the cancer is terminal maybe there is something that can be done.

I Just talked to my grandaughter in Dorm B, medical, and she new of what I was talking about and your sisters illness.
Her first visit is Sat the 10th, so maybe your sister will have one then also.
Sure hope you will be able to see her!!

dalynd58 Welcome to PTO and yes you can get her on these lists by going to the Private Message area right below your login section. Click it on and it will take you to the section you need to send a PM to. In the person's name type in BBS and Title is B'day Card and Christmas List and in the Body Tell her who you are and who you want to add. Give your Granddaughters name, AIS # and dorm/bed #, and Address..dont forget to give her GD birthday dates.
Barb will then contact you with all the information she needs to complete this.

I havenot checked in in a long time here and just found your message. As a general Rule, they are not allowed outside company for the first 30 DAYS... I got your dates right you should be able to go in by now. You can call and talk with a counselor for the family. I miss the old warden... she was like a grand mother to those girls. For now write her often and keep her up as much as you can. She is down now that is a normal down and this heath news could have her really stressed out. Not sure how long her sentance is? but if she is terminal, she may be realeased early. Don't want to get your hopes up but they are over crowded.beware the collect calls can get very expensive. you can email me if you wish at gayle48j@gmail.com

outdoorsygal, How long did your sister get.You may can contact your county representive and let them know and they may can help you.I know they are good about getting an inmate closer to home.You could also contact Bob Humphries out of Montgomey he an Attorney maybe he could help.You will need to know how long she got though.Try contacting the judge that sentenced her.I will be praying for yall.
