Just curious how soon an inmate is notified of their release date to a Fed CCM. Todd was told in June that he was approved to go. However, right now we only know that it could be anytime between Oct 11 & Nov 11.

I have been approved to pick him up & transport him. I just have to send a copy of my DL, vehicle registration & proof of insurance in order to drive him from the FCI to the CCM.

Just curious as to when they will notify him of the date I get to have the best day of my life (that is next to marrying him - again)!

It's not like they don't know already. After all, how hard is it to calculate when a bed will be open?

Just gettin' antsy!

~~~I have been approved to pick him up & transport him~~~
How much time do they give you to get him there? One needs to know this, in order to make plans! ~EG~
We are supposed to get the time when I get the date to pick him up.
when you find out more info about this, please post it, i am really curious...also, what is expected in a federal halfway house? Do they give you time to spend at your home with your loved ones?
All I know is that the first 2 days are spent in house. He can't leave as this is an "orientation" period. They are expected to work 40 hours a week to pay for their bed.
They can leave (usually 8 am - 6 pm) but have to let the house manager know their itinerary for the day.
After a couple of months, they will earn weekend passes. This is where they can go home from Friday night to sunday evening.
Two months after that, they are released to home but must still pay for their bed space until their official release date from BOP custody.
That's the key too. Even though they are in a halfway house they are still the property of the BOP.
Does every person in a federal halfway house get to go home for part of it? From what I am understanding, my sentence might look like this: if I have a 12 mth sentence, I would actually serve 10 mths (with the 54 days off), serve 6 mths in jail, be released to a halfway house for the last 4, actually live there for 2 mths, and be released to home-while still paying the halfway house-for the last 2 mths? Does this sound right? Or am I way off? Thanks for the info!
Faeriegirl,
That sounds pretty accurate, and yes, you still have to pay those half-way house blood suckers when you are on home confinement. The same amount as you did there..
Is it common for someone in Federal Prison to serve their final 6 months at a half way house?
What is the criteria?
Where does one go to check this out?
How does it work?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Molly
Here's one that David would probably be able to answer:
Does the 1/2way house have the authority to place Todd on home confinement prior to his 10% date?
His fedtail is shaken off 3/11/03. That makes his 10% date either 2/4/03 or 2/4.
Basically, what I am trying to figure out is if there is a possibility (ok a strooooooooong possibility) that Todd will be placed on home confinement before the end of this year.
Hope any body with this info answers soon....holding up a letter waiting for a response.
Ki, I'm still waiting for a response on the post above....
BUT...I did talk to a counselor at the halfway house to get exact location. Surprisingly, the guy was pretty kewl. He was a little surprised that we were taking the long way (didn't exactly want to fess up we were detouring by our house to christen the bed, the kitchen, the couches - haha).
I do have to go through the visitation approval process all over again. Even though I'm Todd's wife & have been run through the DoJ. The counselor said it could take anywhere from 1 to 2 wks for the ok.
So until then, I can't pick Todd up from the 1/2way house to take him to job hunt or go shopping. BUT who's to say he can't meet me?
Oh yeah, I have to job hunt again too. Got laid off from my 2nd job in a year last Tuesday. But that's a different forum.
