Hey Y'all, I am new to this whole prison thing, as I am sure alot of y'all once were..I have a sister that was transferred to this facility from Walker County , Alabama afew days ago...Anyways....seeing how I am new and all I need ALL the info I can get since I have done called the prison and they don't speak to you very nicely...Can't get very much out of them..She is a tiny person so what if any abuse is there ? How long before visitors? What can I send / take her? She is approximately 2 1/2 hours from me...Not even sure of her full sentence ....What type of medical help to they have??...She is sickly (heart and such) and was released from to hospital straight to Tutwiler...Any info will be so very helpful.....I can see this prison site doesn't get alot of responses like the others but I hope someone can help me...Thank Y'all in advance and God Bless!!!:)

Usually it takes a few weeks to get visitation/funds/phone list to be approved. If you are going to visit she will need your social security number and DOB (they do background checks)...

The ADOC's website under inmate search will give you her EOS (end of sentence) date. If you know her AIS # just type it in or if you don't know it you can search by name and it will give you her AIS #. Here is that site:

Be sure to put her AIS number on all letters you send to her. If she puts you on her funds list (where you can send her money orders) be sure her AIS # is on those too. She should have a dorm and bed number also that needs to be put on letters. You can send her stamps.

As far as taking her anything, you can't. The only thing you can take to visitation is your drivers license, car keys, and change for the vending machines. The do have packages through out the year. They normally have 2 hygine/care packages and 2 food packages. The next package will be in December and its a food package. The state goes thru a certain company and you can order the package from there website, or the prison will pass out order forms you can order from.

As far as medical, they give her a full physical when she gets there,if she needs medicine for her heart or medication for something else they will make sure she gets it.

hello, my girl is in tutwiler as of about 2 months ago, she says they did a very thurough medical exam upon entering, and seem to have good medicle care, other wise I can't help you much,,, she is in dorm J if you have any questions for her,, I try to talk to her evry other nite, so you can private mess. me if you want, i'll ask her whatever you need
