Hi,
Not sure if this is the apropriate place or not. However, camping is traveling, just not as far. :)
We are only going to be gone 2 nights & 2 days. There is no refrigerator, as we will be camping, kinda.
So with that said, what kind of foods can i keep in a cooler for that amount of time. We want more than just peanut butter sandwiches & crackers.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

There are lots of things that you can take. I am assuming you mean that you have no way to cook either?
What about the little tuna salad kits?
Summer sausage and cheese
jerky
nuts and seeds
fruit and fresh vegetables
fresh rolls and pepperoni, cold cuts
most salads will keep in a cooler a couple days
When we travel we like to find a well stocked store instead of eating out.
Oh yeah, gotta have M&M's and licorice!

I agree with the above comment. I pack nuts, jerky, fruits and veggies, rolls, etc. Salads are good, too. Fruit roll ups and those types of snacks, granola bars, and things of that nature keep well. We bring breakfast bars and trail mixes, too.

Take whatever it is you like to eat. Stuff that needs refrigerated must be kept cool. Just get a box and put your cooking stuff in it, is all. Teflon does poorly with an active campfire, though coals are ok.
I like to wrap up hamburger meat in heavy duty aluminum foil and add corn, potatoes, salt & pepper. Wrap up a few taters and ya have baked taters. The foilkd meals you can bury under the coals. So get a fire going, get a nice stash of coals built up, and then bury your food. Go off for a hike or fishing or whatever it is you guys wanna do, and come back an hour later and it's all done ready for eating!
