I have a question regarding the process for TPM and Parole.

I just got off the phone w/ the GA. Dept of Pardons and Parole.

I needed to know where in the process has husband Chris fallen.

1. He's been in the state system 8mos. All the county + Prison time all together is a year this month.
2. Investigators have already contacted myself about his residency and has talked w/ his mom about his childhood and teens days.
3. Ok...the lady looked him up in the system and said, that his file was being prepared for the board. That it may take a couple of weeks to get to them.
4. Once the board received the file. It could take up to 30-45 days before they render a decision.
5. At that time they will give him a TPM
6 Notifiy my husband by mail.
7. If Parole Board renders approval for parole, then his file goes to another department for residency planning.

DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT? I get alot of conflicting information.

Please send me any information you may have on this matter may it being positive or negative.

Good Morning PTO!

Please PTO, I need your opinion on whether the above sounds correct and likely. I know, I don't need to get my hopes up.

Is the board real that behind? I thought that they were cutting losoe alot of inmates w/ non-violent crimes. Plus, Purdue, he's wanting to cut the budget and close some of the prisons.

Allison I wish I could help but I am not even that far along with my wife. I too am very frustrated with the process and it does seem to take abnormally long. The fact that you can't get an answer is so frustrating. I met with a hearing examiner back in July and he told me 10-18 months is what she should serve and October was the 12th month and still I have not heard a word. this seems like a long time for a "crack Pipe" and 2 grams of crack.

Rodrick has been in since January and still has no parole month. They talked to his mom in July. I thinkthey are back logged among other things. My experience with the injustice system in GA has been totally frustrating. It's basically a waiting game and we are at their mercy. I hope you plan to join GEJ and attend the 11/19 meeting b/c something HAS to be done.

My son has been at ASMP since August and they haven't even classified him yet. He has a max date but not a TPM. It is very frustrating. Just hang in there. The injustice system as lilivoryangel puts it so well, is just that. INJUSTICE! They aren't in any big hurry for anything . The way I see it is that they go home to loved ones, eat good meals and are very comfortable. Why should they be worried about our inmates or us? One day their judgement will come and then they will know how we feel. They need to pray that nothing like this ever happens to someone it their family, because realistically it could. Keep up the faith and we shall overcome.

Until I just found this web site, I thought my situation was unique. Everyone I came in contact with had a parole date. My husband was arrested in Dec. of 2007 and was sent to a court ordered rehab center. It was a Christian one that I found and the judge agreed to. He was doing amazingly well in there. They found a cell phone on him and his probation officer had the rest of his time on probation transferred to prison time. According to them, 1/3 of his sentence is up next month and you won't get a TPM until then. I got one today. January 2010 and, to make matters worse, they are sending him to another drug and alcohol treatment center! Haven't we suffered enough already? I'd understand if it were something serious but a cell phone?
