HEY LADIES~ MY HUSBAND WAS @ LANCASTER RECEPTION FOR 3MTHS. IT TAKES ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS FOR THEM TO RECIEVE MAIL, AND ABOUT 3 DAYS FOR YOU TO GET THEIR LETTERS.
AS FAR AS VISITS GO YOU HAVE TO MAKE AN APPT! I KNOW IT WAS SOOO FRUSTRATING   TRYING TO GET IN, MY SUGESSTION KEEP THEM ON SPEED DIAL AND KEEP CALLING BACK TO BACK UNTIL YOU GET THRU.

If you want to visit someone in reception you have to make an appointment. And there are certain days you are allowed to call to make an appointment. You need to know where he is housed in. I will be going tomorrow and I can give you more info.

I'm sure u probably figured out by now, but for some reason it does take some time for inmates to get their mail while in reception. I talked to a mailroom staff member once, and they said that it does not matter whether or not u put the housing info on the envelope because they locate the inmate by typing their # into their computer system before they deliver anything to them, since the inmates can be moved at any point and time. All u need to put on the envelope, besides the address, is the inmates full name and their state issued id #. It doesn't make the mail get to them any faster if u put any other info on it. But from my experience, it shouldn't take any longer than a week for him to receive your letter if he's in the same county as u. If he's in a different city it shouldn't be longer than about 9-10 days. If it's any longer than that, they're just lagging!
