First, is the gym temporary? He also received notice for a classification hearing....what does that mean? He wanted to go to fire camp, but we both know he's in the wrong place, but he's 37 minutes away from me, so that's good but could he still go. What can he expect from the classification hearing? I think I screwed up and scheduled an appointment to see him on Sunday, I was just approved for visits at DVI and he transferred yesterday. So I have to start from scratch.....I'm bringing our 3 month old baby too, anyone have suggestions? Also, the contact visits, how long can a person stay? Also how long does it take to get approved for family visits. I've already read the Solano guide, now I just wanted people's personal experience....any help would be appreciated.....So HELP......please

I can answer some of your questions! Now, I don't know if Gym is MEANT to be temp but when my honey first got there he was there for the first 6 months or so and the only reason he ever moved was because of a little incident between him and someone else that got blown way out of proportion. I BELIEVE (its been a while and my memory may not be serving me too well) that the classification hearing junk is to determine what level offender he is. Could be wrong though. For bringing a baby - the CO's are actually pretty considerate there. Just follow their rules for what you can bring for baby (6 diapers, 2 clear bottles of premixed formula, one blanket, two small plastic toys, pacifier, one package of factory sealed wipes) and they'll be fine. My baby girl was asleep on me and her snaps on her outfit set off the detector like 20 times but they kept working with me having me slow down so the detector wouldn't go off over the small stuff and I ended up getting through just fine. They also let me process first out of my group of people on the bus because I had an infant with me. The only thing - it's COLD waiting for the bus to take you around back (if you're visiting on yards 3 or 4) and they DO NOT allow a hat for your baby so be sure you take advantage of them letting you bring a blanket.

I just married my husband on Saturday so I can't give you any help on the family visits but just know that EVERYONE that I met at CSP Solano was very very helpful and kind. If you need to know something ask a CO (they're all very friendly) or ask a fellow visitor, everyone is pretty willing to help each other out. Message me if you have any more questions. I was just there so it's still fresh in my mind. Hope that helps!
