Daveswife 11-16-2007, 09:11 AM Everyone deals in different ways, so it would be next to impossible to say what he's feeling right now. My hubby was happy to finally get moved to a DOC facility. They are a world of difference from the County Jails. ronslady 11-16-2007, 11:44 AM Everyone deals in different ways, so it would be next to impossible to say what he's feeling right now. My hubby was happy to finally get moved to a DOC facility. They are a world of difference from the County Jails. i was always afraid for anyone to go to doc correct me if im wrong but isn't that sugar coded for prison? i watch the NGC channel and they show how life is in there. so when they get moved do they automatic get sent to max security or do they already know what levels they in before they get sent to a cell or dorm? Daveswife 11-16-2007, 01:17 PM Yes DOC is prison. It's still better than the county jail when you have any real amount of time to do. Each inmate is classifed based on many things. The first place they go is to a reception center to be processed in. They they are shipped to a facility that houses their security level. What you see on TV doesn't describe most of the prisons in VA. I'm sure the max security are bad, but most of them aren't anything like what you see on TV. hiphip72 11-16-2007, 03:49 PM Yeah, Now that T has been classified, he is in a prison that has some real laid back folk. Most are non-violent offenders. He is almost bored. The reception center was scary for a little bit (for me, not him) because it housed inmates from different levels. So basically it's what everybody says...the lower the level, the easier going the facility usually is. ronslady 11-16-2007, 06:05 PM yeah thats what im afraid of too, having him in a room with people of all levels. hiphip72 11-17-2007, 12:22 PM T got classified rather quickly. I think he was only at that center just little more than a month before going to his "home". |
