SO?? not sure what that means but I have heard that they are going to make it into a protective custody prison. I'm not sure how true that is but I also Heard that A Yard in ISP might be doing the same thing. If that happens they will be shipping A Yard inmates to Centinella, Tehachipi and another prison I cant remember. Again that is what I heard from my brother he is in A yard at ISP.

Are you referring to SO as sex offenses?? Just to give you a little knowledge not all guys that are PCed up are sex offenders. There might be a high percent that are but that’s not everyone on a PC yard.. There are many reason some one goes to protective custody.

In a Protective Custudy prison there is mostly sex offendors, child molestors, rapist and snitches. Anyone in fear for their lives can roll it up and ask to be placed in a PC Prison. Those inmates are considered no good in the eyes of the regular population. Inmates like the ones I mentioned are most likely to get hurt or killed in a regular facility. I actually don't understand why the state of California would protect such monsters or snitches at that! Chukawala is going to be a PC prison in the near future. I'm totally against people who hurt women and children. I also can't stand a snitch. Our men live by a code and its sad to say but that code usually ends up getting our men more time. But that's the life we live in.

NOT TO BE A SMART ASS......SO IF THIS TO BE TRUE YOU MEAN CALIFORNIA WILL WASTE MORE MONEY AND TRANSFER THOSE INMATES WHO DON'T FIT THE ABOVE LIST TO OTHER ALREADY OVERCROWDED PRISON TO MAKE ONE PRISON "PROTECTIVE CUSTUDY" ?

My husband was moved to iron wood because his last prison was changed into a pc and he went from having a cell to being stuck in the gym

Thanks for all the updates ladies!

The rumor I'd heard was not that Chucky was going all PC, but specifically being flipped for SO's..... so if the all PC part is true, then that makes more sense to me than just for SO's. If the state is smart ( :ha:) they will make sure the men are still classified by the level of their offense. Even in PC, there are those that fight, and those that don't.

Damn, I just wish this was OVER! :blah:

I have heard the rumor about A yard at ISP a few times over the past 2 years. I think I might have read somewhere about Chucky's becoming a PC/SNY a couple months ago... don't quote me but I think it may have been via CDCR!?!? I'll have to look it up:rolleyes:.

So if they change Chucky to an all PC does that mean they guys in C and D yard will be moved out to another facility? What is SNY? who can we contact about this?

SNY basically is the same as PC... Special Needs Yard. Snitches, ex-law enforcement, child molesters, ex-gangbangers, etc.

I haven't had a chance to surf the CDCR site for info yet but I think I recall a list of prisons being switched to PC and Chucky's was on it. My memory is not what it used to be so don't quote me... LOL! Feel free to cruise throught the CDCR site and let us know what you find.
PEACE!

FYI: I just went into the CDCR web site and notice they updated the information under Chuckies section here is what it reads

male felons classified as medium and low-medium custody inmates. Two of the four Level II Facilities at CVSP are Sensitive Needs Yards. The other two are general population Level II yards. Under State law, the primary purpose of incarceration is punishment, the deterrence of criminal behavior, and the rehabilitation of inmates through education and self-improvement programs

I am assuming they are referring to A&B as the sensitive needs yard and C,D are general population I am concern if they will be moving the general population out my husband is in C yard and just got there from Ironwood so if they will make it an all SNY or PC/SO ect most likely general population will be move back to Ironwood, centinela, or Tehachapi anyway I know Norco just changed the women facility to an all male facility and is PC. I will come back and post more information once I contact someone at CDCR.

I just spoke to a PIO (public information officer) regarding chucky turning into an all SO facility. She mentioned that as of now there are two facility under PC, SO and SNY and two others as general population that’s how it will stay for now, there is no plan yet to turn all levels to pc, so, sny and transfer out the general population. Now I can breath:D and not worry about my husband being transfer again. ;)

aries- i dont think chucky inmates can be transeffered to the some of the prisons you mentioned well not ISP anyways because that is a level 3 prison as Centinella I think. Chucky's is a level 2.

Your right:D , that makes sense they would have to be transfer to a level two, but per the PIO who I spoke with they are not transferring any general population do to PC or SNY, SO.

Chuckies IS turning into an SNY--most of my friends that were at CVSP have shipped out--only yard I know of right now that is GP is the yard where the OSAP program is and F yard which is a minimum yard.
I have also heard the rumor that A yard at ISP is turning into a PC yard--quite a few have landed on D yard from A--however some of those are being shipped to Mississippi. I heard that rumor a while back--as of now A yard is still GP.
btw--i just seen a bus load transferred out last week--the PIO gives information on a need to know basis--CDCR doesn't always feel like the public needs to know anything--
