Hi! I am looking for websites that offer free magazines that I can send to my fiance. Also what are some types of magazines that you send to your loved one (that aren't free)? I would like to surprise him with a magazine subscription and would like some advice on what kinds.. he is what many people would call "street"! Thanks..

k- I can most definitley help. Well not for free ones cause I dont know. But as far as paying I can. My man is black, 23 yrs old, and listens to rap and hip hop. Just in case. If they have the same qualities then perhaps intersts are the same. I subscribe him to Vibe, XXL, The Source, KING, Maxim, Stuff, FHM, and Playboy. Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks gyrl :) Are they allowed to receive Playboy and other X-rated mags at all prisons or would I have to call to find out! I would ask him, but I want it to be a surprise!

the SUN is a fabulous, introspective literary magazine, written by writers and by readers. they donated a subscription
to my ex, previously.
also, you could ask streetsheet
these have stories by prisoners, homeless people, vets, folks struggling.

Check out Bluedolphin.com they have all sorts of magazines listed.
I send STUFF, MAXIM, a few political mags, and some music mags... seems to get him through his days.
Also, not all prisons allow NUDITY. Check with the DOC first. MASS Prisions use to let porn in, but they took that away last year.

MrsKendrick--- Yes most definitley check first about Playboy etc. Texas allows Playboy without the monthly approval that is required with some of the others. Playboy just goes right in. But Tx doesn't allow Hustler, Penthouse..etc. So yeah, since your in GA definitley check first!

Do you think it would be wise to find out which he would prefer, or just go through with the surprise and on intution?

IF you know what he likes then I would say "go for it." Another good magazine is Mens Health. I send that to James along with Euroturner, Hot VW, Cycle World, King and GQ. He loves his magazines. Good luck.

If he's into cars, you might want to get him Dubs, they have nice cars/rims and pretty women ;-). There's also a magazine called DonDivas, it does have a prison support undertone to it.

Ok, I just got off the phone with the mail clerk (she was EXTREMELY nice!) and she told me that in order for him to receive a mag subscription he has to fill out a package requests and write down the specific magazine name... well, soo much for my surprise :( but I think he'll still be delighted!

Here's my question. Is there any way that I can send him just like one or two magazines without subscribing to them?? Becuase Louie will probably be moved within the next month or so and I dont want to waste money subscribing....Any thoughts??? Thanks in advance if you can help! :)

LouiesGirl I don't think so.. most prisons will only allow magazines to be delivered directly from the Company. but you may want to double check. If you do subscribe though, you can always get them to update the address to wherever he is sent, usually w/out any hassle!
