This is Jackie again I beleive I should have put the name of the prison to catch the right persons attention. My son is as we speak being transfered to Solono2 in Vacaville. He is a level 2 lifer. Anyone know how things are going there lately???? Us moms of longtime lifers get just as nervous as the firsttimer or shortimer. OH heck I think you know what I am trying to get accross. Please let me know, you know I feel better just knowing you all are out there. Thanks in Advance Jackies

Solano is programming pretty well - even though they're at triple their population. I have a good friend who is a L2 Lifer there (yard 1) and he's in PIA as a welder. They have educational and vocational going there and not too much as far as lockdowns.

There is a check-in thread for Solano under "Other California Prisons" which may have more info for you.

Here is the link to the Solano Prison Guide - http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201915

My loved one was incarcerated at Solano for about 18 months. Out of all prisons he has been in he said that Solano was the most low key and decent. In my opinion, visiting Solano was a hassle compared to others.
