I would like to find a sponsor for my husband that he can write to and get comfortable with. He is in the AA classes right now, and will soon be starting the video and book series for his certificate. I just believe that it would help him to have a sponsor, and I am no help to him, as I am not a drinker and have no idea where to start to look.
One of my daughters does go to Ala-teen meetings once a week, because my ex husband was an alcoholic. Should I ask her to talk to that sponsor to recommend someone?
Anyone have any ideas??
Thanks
Michelle

Hi Michelle. Many AA groups have a program where members volunteer to sponsor prisoners via mail. Check out the AA website and contact their central office. They should be able to tell you which groups offer this service or at least point you in the right direction.
Here's the AA website: http://www.alcoholics-anonymous.org/index.cfm
Also, maybe you could contact some of the groups in your home state of Michian. Here's a link with some info.

Good luck! Sponsors via mail are a very good thing. ;)

Also, I would check with your local chapter of alcoholics anonymous intergroup they should have a someone that would be willing to write to him and help him with the steps through the mail. Also check out what Danielle suggested to. Then if all fails call aa out of new york and ask them if they have a suggestion on it. Good Luck keep us posted okay.
