LOVING A CONVICT IS NOT ALWAYS GOOD.....
AND LOVING HIM IS A HIGH PRICE TO PAY......
ITS LOVING WITH NOTHING TO HOLD......
ITS BEING YOUNG BUT FEELING OLD.........
ITS HAVING HIM WHISPER HIS LOVE TO YOU..........
ITS WHISPERING BACK I DO TOO.........
ITS RELUCTANTLY PAINFUL LETTING EACH OTHER GO......
WHILE DYING INSIDE FROM NEEDING EACH OTHER SO.......
THEN CAME A KISS.....
A PROMICE TO WAIT....
THEN WATCHING HIM LEAVE WITH EYES FULL OF TEARS....
STANDING ALONE WITH HIS HOPES AND FEARS.......
LOVING A CONVICT BRINGS BITTERNESS AND PAIN...
LONELINESS AND SADNESS AND A SENCE OF NO GAIN.......
BUT WHEN YOUR FINALLY AWARE THAT IT WILL SOON BE IN THE PAST.........
AND THAT YOUR LOVING CONVICT WILL BE HOME AT LAST....
ITS TRUE LOVING A CONVICT IS NOT MUCH FUN BUT WORTH IT WHEN THE WAITING IS DONE.....

I HOPE YOU GUYS ENJOY THIS POEM I HAVE NO IDEA WHO WROTE IT ALL I NOW IS THAT IT CAME IN A LETTER THAT MY FIANCE WROTE ME....

an old friend of mine in avenal gave me the same poem a little differ in 1992, and i passed it around to my prison groups, and gave it to my husband to show him I was for real .. that poem speaks for itself
