well i went to drug court in las vegas a few years ago, as far as there you cannot be a violent offender. its a year long program with constant testing classes and court dates to check progress. its not easy and if you are late to class you are a no show and this is reported to the judge, if you are dirty then start putting you in jail 3-14 days at a time. the purpose of drug court is to not receive a felony if you complete all requirements. its a chance to turn your life around and have this charge dismissed. sealed and dismissed. you pay a certain amount to attend the judge figures if you can buy drugs you can pay for the program. they will tell you what drugs to stay away from some cold medicines show up positive for speed. iis no joke and if you are terminated the judge will give you your original sentence. my judge jack lehman in vegas started drug court around the country and it changed my life. its a difficult program but it works, and if it is offered i would take it.

Okay, cool. Would they offer it if someone was convicted of sales? My girlfriend was convicted of Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell, so would they offer it to her?

When do they offer it? At the pre-sentence interview? This is her 1st drug offense, a class 2 felony in Arizona... she was on standard probation for a class 6 Theft offense, would that matter? I know she might have to serve some time for the class 6 but at least it wouldn't be 4 years (Presumptive) for the class 2. What do you think her chances for getting it offered are? Is it tough to get it offered? What can she do to help her chances? Thanks!

Also, the plea that she signed said probation was not eligible... can she still get it?

i was offered or srongly advised to take drug court becuz it was my second time for possession. nevada may be different, ask her attorney if she can go to drug court. since she is on probation and violated they may not allow it, but have her ask her attorney if it is a option. i am not a expert on this only know for my experience, does she have drug problem and want help> there were alot of drug dealers in there and they had prior charges, so push to get it if she is eligible. have her attorney request drug court and see what happens. for sure no domestic or violent offenses can have occured. keep me posted.
