Hello Everyone,

After 9 Years I finally got to talk to my brother again. I got out late at school, around 12:45 when I should have gotten out at 12:30 plus the 15 minute drive to my house. I walked threw the door at 1:00 and my brother and he tells me to go into the kitchen, Brian's on the phone, I basically said " Hell no man dont joke like that " and so i walked in and my Mom handed me the phone. After 9 years of not seeing him, or hearing his voice, I finally got to talk to him yesterday. And the way everything worked out, I could have missed his call. Oh! And yesterday was my Grandma's 80th Birthday. He couldnt get ahold of her cause the area code got changed. So, I called her up on my cell and put the phones upside down so they could talk to each other. It Will probably be the last time she hears his voice, but it was probably the best birthday present, we could have ever given her. He Sounds so different, I guess 7 years in the SHU will burn anyones voice. I thought after today I would be more calm, but Im still so wired. Just needed to tell someone :)

Thanks, CJ

What a wonderful, miraculous experience! I'm so happy for you and your family! Does this mean you'll be able to have more contact with him now? I hope so! Thank you so much for sharing with us. For him, it must have been a mind-bending experience after all these years.

Thanks toi_ama!

As for more contact.. sadly no. Guards brought him a cup of coffee and split, we talked to him for a good hour and a half. Only reason we let him go was cause he started to trip out on why they were letting him talk so long, And didnt want to over stay his privilage of the call. He was suppose to get out of the SHU in Feb. But looks like it wont be till this time next year, then he will try to me down to Southern California, either Calipatria or Tehachapi so we can visit him without a 5 day drive. With all the trouble hes gotten into inside, who knows if he will even get parol in 2005.

I'm so sorry he had to feel he should cut it short. Maybe the guard was letting him have the extra time on purpose. But I'm so glad for you all that he got to talk to you. I know it will be a treasured memory for him for a very long time now. I'll be praying he can be transferred closer so you can visit him. Please keep showering him with letters and put him on our birthday and Christmas card lists. He needs all the contact from out here that he can get.

Thank you all, Our call wasnt really cut short, we talked to him for almost 2 hours :) I could tell just by the sound of my grandma's voice that she was shocked, even that night she still couldn't believe it was him.

Thanks again
