MY FRIEND
Three hours cannot explain to me,
The way I feel inside,
My emotions are in turmoil,
And my tears I cannot hide.
I met you for the first time today,
I'd wait a thousand years,
To see that sparkle in your eyes,
That calmed my nerves and fears.
I wanted to give you a hug,
Shake your hand and kiss your cheek,
To show you all my happiness,
At our chance to finally meet.
My second visit was shorter,
And our time together was rare,
I needed to ask so many things,
So many memories to share.
I laughed until my smiling ached,
My adrenalin hit top score,
By the time I had to leave again,
I simply floated to the door.
The way you make me feel so good,
Is such a rush of joy,
I feel like I've been a good child,
That's been given a brand new toy.
And now I'm lying wide awake,
Waiting to meet you again,
I know I have to come back next,
We're links that form a chain.
I want to share my experience,
With everyone I know,
To tell them what you mean to me,
Because I love you so.
You have taught me so many things,
Of which you aren't aware,
How not to judge anyone at all,
And always show you care.
Be patient and understanding;
Ask questions and be forthright;
Open you heart to one and all;
Don't always assume you're right.
But most of I thank you,
For the love you've shared with me,
I can't imagine not needing you,
Like a lock which needs a key.
A time will come when I must go,
My visits will come to an end,
I'll be back again real soon,
Until then, I love you my friend.
