Hi ShandaLeer, Yes im a CRC/Norco wife. I dont post, because no one ever comes on from Norco.. It would be nice, if there was more wives, girlfriends etc that we can start getting a thread or conversation going.. Would be nice to talk to other Norco woman... I drive from L.A. every weekend.. If you like to talk, you can either pm me or just write here. I read alot of threads, but dont post...

Hello ladies,
Yes, I'm a CRC/Norco wife, My husband has been there for about a month. I drive up from SD every week. I saw my husband this past saturday. I'm really concerned because he has not phoned, he usually does about 2 times a day. Have you ladies heard anything that might of happened?

Hi Everyone,

I'm not a wife. But I'm a Mom. I live in North Poway. Could I be included?
I plan to start going up every other weekend. Could someone explain how visiting works there. Thanks...

Hi Ladies,
I'm also a CRC/Norco wife and I live in San Diego. It sure doesn't seem like there are very many Norco folks on pto! My husband has been at Norco since May, but I haven't been able to visit yet; I have a medical condition that makes me not tolerate heat at all. I'm going to start visiting next month, when it's hopefully cooler! Visiting is by the last two digits of the CRC number. It seems that, according to the calendar my husband sent me, there are only 2 or 3 visiting days for each set of numbers each month.

Poway, ask your son to send you a visiting calendar/schedule, so that you can see when you can visit. Maybe someone can tell us how the actual visiting goes? Clothes allowed? Best time to get there?

Thanks for any info you can give!

Hi Everyone,
Im glad to see theres more Norco woman out here and posting... Woohoo. Let me introduce myself again.. My name is Noodles and im a CRC/Norco wife.
I hope that you ladies will post more, and show some "Love" for CRC/Norco.
As for Poway yes your included. Moms, Wifes, Girlfriends, etc are included.. Im so happy to know theres Norco woman out here In PTO land
~ Poway, the way it works is: it goes by the last 2 digits of the his CDC number. THose are the only days your allowed to visit. It is either on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Its only 1 day a weekend. Which sucks, because it makes it harder to visit if your working on those days... As him to send you a calander and you will see what im speaking about.. It will say for example:
Friday 00-49 Sat 49-75 Sunday 75-99 whatever his number lands on or inbetween thats when you go.
The dress code is pretty much the same as any other prison... If you need more information, either post or pm

Have you tried using Jpay? I heard the money gets to the inmate faster. If not, then make the money order out to your brother the same and send it, he should get notified once the prison receives it and it's in his account.

Question;

Could someone tell me.....after they arrive(at Norco) , how long does it take to be able to visit? And...since our visiting forms are only one year old, will they still be good at Norco? I heard that the visiting approvals follow them. Is that true?

ltongaofa

If you have already been approved @ another facility for visits prior to him moving to norco..then you are approved at Norco also. so u are good to go visit him already.

oh..and hello everyone! i am a norco wife. My husband has been @ Norco for about 6 mnths. I love it that he is here in Norco cause i am just 15 min. away. but i use to drive 2 hours when he was in Blythe. But i'm sad to say that i have heard bad news....Has any of you heard of your loved one talk about getting transferred out of state? My husband said his counselor told him that his name is on the list to be moved out of state and he is fighting it..he had to fill out some papers refusing to leave..but the counselor told him there is a slim chance that it will be granted.wondering if any of you have heard anything...thanks..lydia

I've heard about the out of state transfers. I'm sorry that it is truly hitting home for you, but I was reading somewhere about how they determine who will be transferred. I'm going to think really hard and see about finding the information again. You're in our prayers keep your head up.

ltongaofa,
My husband is also at CRC and he was also told he would be moving out of state. He was told to submit birrth certificates of his children to see if it would help, but apparently its not going to make a differnce.

Btw, Facility 1 is on lockdown due to a fight on the weekend.

Real Mrs Jones

Yes, if there was anyone planning on visiting this weekend and your loved one is housed in facility 1 like mine they are on lockdown until further notice. All other facilities are open for visiting.

Hi,
Another Norco wife says hello. My husband was transferred to CRC over a month ago, after being sent to Wasco by mistake & staying for 1 1/2 months. Long story short, I have had one 8 minute phone call in almost 3 months, cause he's still in reception. Is this normal? My guy writes almost every day, but it is getting really hard not to be able to visit or even hear his voice.

I live in the Bay area, sounds like most of you are from So. Calif.

Has anybody heard any more news about what happened there last week? I haven't been able to find any updated news since 9-6-07.

Any info is greatly appreciated!
Thanks, and best wishes,
Anemone

Hi anemone,

I'm new to Norco, so I won't be able to answer some of your questions. However, all I know is that the time spent in reception varies. My son was in reception for about 6 weeks.

Hello everyone, I just spoke with my husband who is presently in Corcoran 1 and he advised me that he should be moving to NORCO within the month. The move will save me about 2 and a half hours on the drive. THANK GOD !!!! I am, however, concerned about the visiting since I visit EVERY Friday now and looks like I may be into some changes with this new prison. Question.......How are the COs there. I got along with ALL of the Corcoran COs since I visited all the time, we were very cool with each other. Also, with the visiting, if my day to visit is Saturday, can i assume the visit wont be termed due to overcrowding? Thanks everyone. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. Im sure you know how it is when our men transfer, we tend to get nervous and anxious about the move. Peace.

Welcome keepingtreal,
Glad you posted and you will be a Norco wife soon. As for your information, you might want to look on this thread a few other threads that are posted regarding those specific questions. As for being terminated, yes there is always a possibility that your visit will be terminated, due to over crowding. However, thats at every prison... All other info search this thread and a few others that have prior posted..

Hello hello,

My friend is being transferred from Pleasant Valley to Norco, although he's not sure exactly how soon this will occur. I'm a little bummed because PVSP is 2 hours away and Norco is more like 7. ::sigh:: But he's happy, as it's a good way for him to break up his time. So, I really need info! I'm nervous to start the whole visiting process and getting comfortable with a new place thing.

Hi,
My boyfriend too is in CRC/Norco. I was getting calls from him every couple of days until the riot. He is in dorm 108. Luckily he is alright. Now my problem is GlobalTel Link. I have a credit on my account but they have blocked my phone. I cant seem to get any answers from customer care call center. (which is in Argentina) Anyone else having problems?

Hi Ladies, My name is Monique. I'm from San Diego. Today this morning my husband was transfered from Centinela State Prison to CRC,Norco. I have so much to ask. Going to a new prison is a whole new journey!...lol
How does the visiting work there? Is there visits every weekend or is it different from the other prisons? Has anyone had a family visit? if so how is that and if you can please private message me because I have a lot of questions regarding the family visits.

How strick are they with clothing at visits?
Any info will help. Thanks!

Oh yeah if anyone is from San Diego that visits CRC I'm willing to carpool.

My husband got transfered from ISP to CRC in May, at which point I sent in my marriage certificate for Familiy Visits, at this point, almost October, his lazy counselor says she hasn't gotten around to his file yet. BS !

I went to visiting Friday, it was great, I dont think I'll ever go on a weekend again.

I was told that Norco visiting is based on a schedule pertaining to the last two numbers of the inmate's cdc number...... meaning we will NOT be able to go EVERY Friday but will have to alternate between Fri, Sat and Sun. Is this true? Just asking because may02 stated that she does not know if she will go on a "weekend" again. It looks like you may HAVE to if what I am told is true. We need some clarification please....thanks.

Grrr. I start this thread and people post all these nice replies, but I never got to read until now cause my computer was crashed.

Anyway, I drive up at least twice a month from San Diego. Sometimes if I have the extra $$, I much prefer to drive up to Norco the night before and get a hotel room, then go to the prison from there in the morning. It's just less stressful that way and I don't have to worry about traffic etc. making me late. So if anyone from S.D. ever wants to carpool and/or go in 1/2 on a hotel room, PM and let me know.

What I don't like about visiting up there is how they make you stand for light years in line, in the hot sun. I made that mistake once and now I just go later after they've let most of the other people in and the line isn't as long. It's a shorter visit, yes, but it's way more enjoyable if I'm not all heat-stroked.

welcome to crc,
I dont know a thing about civit commits but you can call the prison direct at 951-737-2683 and ask to speak to the counselor in your guys dorm, and ask them. Some of the counselors are cool and helpful, and some are just straight $?&*@! and you don't know unless your guy tells you or you call and find out yourself. Good Luck
