Hello everyone,
Just wanted to say hi! And to let you know things are looking up for my "baby" Brian. He turned 18 in jail last month:( but the good news is he seems to be getting it together:)! He's got his first look at gaintime (wow 6 days) and hasn't been in trouble for a while now (pray it keeps up). He's seriously working towards his GED. He only completed 10th grade before his trouble with drugs and the law. So when he took one of his tape tests and scored very high we were happy! Now if he can get his writing skills up they may let him take his GED test and if he passes he can start on a trade there. He's really happy now. He thought with all the junk he did that his brain had gone, Guess not! I always knew he was smart - why does it take so long for them to listen to us!!!!!!
Just wanted to share how happy I am about this to most it doesn't seem like much,you know with everyone graduating from high school and all but to us it's a big deal. Hope you are all well and remember your in my prayers! Peace. Cheryl

that's so great. yeah once you get your system cleaned out all sorts of things come back. hope everything gets better and and better. my young friend is 20 and also needs to get his GED. he feels it's not the same as a highschool diploma and somehow lacking but i keep encouraging. he's very bright. i keep telling him: jimmy you know your really smart when your brain doesn't get in the way! (in other words: bad choices are what put him there now but he's smart enough to get through this)

good luck

~~~why does it take so long for them to listen to us!!!!!!~~~
It's not listening, but realizing what one has to work with!
After 13 schools in 11 years, I didn't realize what I had, until I went too my first trade (refrigeration) school! Going from "D's & F's" to all "A's" and outstanding turned on a dim light at 20 years old. Then the 2nd trade (electronic's) school at 40 really brighten up that light with, again, stright "A's" and only 1 of 5 in the history of the school to ACE the final and getting my FCC ticket too boot.
I hope Brain finds his potential a lot sooner then I did! I wasted a lot of years of just drifting through life with some abilities of making a difference, but didn't!
Internal difficulties does hamper ones, God given abilities!
