I was convicted of a DWI in May and am in VASAP in Fairfax County, Virginia. Has anyone here been through this? I have completed the classes and AA meetings and basically have to just wait out the year. I had to agree to abstain from drugs and alcohol and they can test me randomly. The rumor is that they are so swamped that they don't actually ever call anyone in for testing. There is a chance that I might want to smoke some weed before next May but I'm scared there might be a crack down and they start calling in people for testing.

So has anyone been through VASAP and been called in for testing?

Or has anyone been on probation for anything and then failed a random drug test? Did you have to go to jail?

I don't even know how they are supposed to contact me. Certified letter?

Me personally I have never heard of the program. But, I have heard of random drug testing and I have a friend that was busted for having dirty urine and is sitting in jail awaiting to go back to prison. But he has violated many times and this violation they decided that they were going to send him back. I would not take the risk no matter what. I would continue to participate in your recovery and I know for me when I go to meetings and work with a sponsor and others somehow my desire to drink and use doesn't come around. I don't know how they are supposed to contact you I would suggest ask your po officer they might be able to give you some guidance on it and all.

when i went to drug court in vegas the people who smoked pot fared the worst becuz it stayed in the system and if the person tried to alter their urine those tests could show deception. you are playing with fire if you do this. i would go thru the program and stay clean becuz yes you do go to jail and they could make you start the whole program again. i do not know about asap but most drug programs operate on the same premise.

my boyfreind is attending SAP classes yes they do i don't care what anyone tells you they do test you pretty dang regular and you never know when it is gonna be you could test on Monday and have to call your PO on wednesday and your PO would just say out of nowhere to come in and get tested! yes 2 days later! It is called the color code probation but my mans PO ordered his test. if you don't show up to get tested you go back to jail, no probation you have to sit you time and what ever they add on for FTA. If you fail it you go back to same sentence as above. i know i have seen it happen dont chance it.:cuffs:

Marijuana stays in your system for up to 30 days. You can even getting a dirty test from just being around it when it's smoked. A rare occurance, but it can happen.

For 4 years I worked in a drug forensic toxicology lab. The presence of drugs in the body goes in a little deeper than what Flecky has mentioned. Partly, it has to do with the frequency of usage, how much marijuana you smoke and what THC level they are testing you at. And Billy if you're itching to smoke now, you probably won't want to stop..therefore increasing the detectable amount of THC in your system.

If I were you, I'd have to wait..it's only 4 freakin' months (LOL) and then you will be on your own time to "puff puff pass".

Meth users, it depends on how much u use, how u use it. If your a smoke meth, depending on how much, it can stay in ur system anywhere from 4 to 30 days.
pot is 30 to 40 days depending on the usage. Same goes for most drugs.
The saliva test isn't very accurate, thats' why they went back to urine testing in my program. IN saliva test, all one has to do is gargle a half pint of listerine rt b4 going to test, i've did it passed it. and i was dirty.
now urine, you can always tell if ur gonna test n/p if ur urine is very dark in color, and has a strong order, ur dirty. clear is clean. That's my experience.

Oh yeh did I mention I just finished my last drug rehab class Thurs and they will do an exit on me this week, which means maybe an early release off probation....Yahooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
