View Full Version : Visiting Ad Seg at Solano ??
Tricksie2645 08-22-2007, 09:13 PM Kind of a god news bad news thing. I got a letter today from my son with my visiting approval. :D That's the good news. The bad news is he got into a fight last week and is currently in the hole. :( He didn't know when he wrote how long he will be in Ad Seg. (His bunkie thougt he would already be out, so we are kind of puzzled, oh well)
I read the Solano guide and will call for an appointment, but is there a time frame? Like, if I call tomorrow will I maybe get to visit this weekend, or will I have to call this week to visit next week? Also, I've read about the lining up and everything, but not sure if all that is the same for a behind glass visit. Anyone out there that can help with answers would be appreciated.
William'sBaby 08-23-2007, 12:33 AM I listed in the guide the days of the week that you can call for non-contact visits. You call (707) 454-3266, Mon-Fri between the hours of 11am and 1pm ONLY. Usually when you call it is either busy or rings a million times (sometimes the answering machine comes on too. DON'T leave a message cause they wont call you back. Just hang up and redial). Eventually you will get through and you can schedule one appointment for the upcoming weekend. If you try calling tomorrow though, I'm pretty sure they will already be filled up. You really have to call on Monday or Tuesday if you expect to get an appt. Give it a try tomorrow and see what happens. And like I said, keep trying until someone answers. They only take calls between 11am and 1pm. If they are already filled up for this week, you cannot sign up for next weekend. You have to wait and try again on Monday. Yeah, it seems like that sucks, but that's how they do it and it's actually a good thing.
If you are doing a non-contact visit, don't show up at 7am and get in the car line. All you have to do is go up to the visiting info/check-in office about 15 minutes before your scheduled visit and sign in. Just get in the line (inside the building) that has the "non-contact" sign above it. If you are confused ask anyone standing around and someone will direct you. There are always officers in there and you can ask them too. The pass that you fill out will not be the same as everyone elses. Your's will have a big red NON CONTACT stamp at the bottom of it, and you will get it inside. Everyone else has to wait outside to get their contact visit passes. Good luck!
P.S. The dress code is still enforced for non-contact visits. You still have to dress the part, and you will still have to go through the medal detector.

Tricksie2645 08-23-2007, 12:39 AM Thanks so much for your answer. I'll try tomorrow, but won't hold my breath. Hopefully he'll be back in regular housing by next weekend...I'll try to make an appointment anyway, just in case. I saw the phone number in the guide, but somehow missed the days and hours to call. Thanks again.
William'sBaby 08-23-2007, 01:01 AM No problem. :D And for those who do not know, here is the link to the CSP-Solano guide:
CSP-SOLANO GUIDE (http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1942309#post1942309)
This guide has tons of info on the prison, visiting, sending packages and mail, etc. PLEASE read this guide if you are new to PTO and have a loved on at SOLANO.

Tricksie2645 08-23-2007, 02:20 PM Duh! I feel so stupid, when I went back to the guide, there was the info. I think I didn't even look at it because it said General Population...I was thinking "the hole". Thanks again.
One more question...the message I just received said all appts are taken for this coming weekend, but for two Friday visits that are on a "first come, first served" basis. Does that mean to just show up or does that mean the first person to get someone on the line will get them? Just curious only, 'cause I can't go tomorrow afternoon.
Also, because he's in there on a 115 doesn't that mean he can't have Friday visits?
Sorry, more questions than I know how to ask. I listed his daughter on my visiting form (she's 9 and her mom can't visit) If I'm approved does that mean that I can take her or should we have done a separate one for her. Maybe I should be asking these in the visiting forum, it so let me know and I'll go there. Thanks for all of your help William'sBaby
William'sBaby 08-23-2007, 04:44 PM This is the right place for you to ask this question so don't worry.
I believe from what the recording said that the first two people to get through on the line will get those Friday appts. Now, I remember when I had to do non-contact that the lady told me Fridays are off if the inmate received a 115 (just like contact visits). Those Friday visits are for the people who call in who have loved one's on a yard that is locked down. Get it? So no, you wouldn't be able to sign up for those appointments anyway.
If you want to take your son's daughter you need two things. First, you need to bring a certified copy of the child's birth certificate to the prison. No copies allowed. And second, you need a notarized statement from the mother of the child, giving her OK for you to bring the child to the facility. But you did the right thing by listing the child on your application.
Other than that, try again next week. Call right at 11am on Monday and keep trying until you get through. Good luck! :D ;)

Tricksie2645 08-24-2007, 11:14 PM Thanks, it really helps to get good information. I'm hoping, of course, that he'll be back in general population by next weekend, but if Idon't hear from him, I'll jump right on that phone. Good thing I have a head set and re-dial...LOL
I knew about the birth certificate and notarized statement, just wasn't sure if she was included with my permission. Sure didn't want to get her hopes up (and his too) and then have to come back with no visit. That would be more than I want to deal with right now. So thanks again.
sjohn 09-11-2007, 06:22 PM Here is my situation hoping that someone has some answers for me.
My husband recently went to CMF about a month ago and now they might send him to Solano. Does anyone know since I am already approved through CMF do I need to do the visiting form approval again? And my other question is are you able to visit all 3 days? I live very close and at CMF I can see him as much as I want. I am just hoping it is the same there. Any answers would be great.
Tricksie2645 09-11-2007, 07:46 PM sjohn, sorry I can't speak to that. My son is at Solano, not sure what the visiting is like at CMF. Did you check on the information listed here: http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=222528 If you go there you will find specific information about CMF. I do know at Solano they are eligible for Friday visits if they have been discipline free for 90 days. Sorry I can't be of more help.
