I am super duper new to jamestown and i have a couple of question for anyone that visited any of the newly transferred inmates into the level 3 SNY yard. how is visiting? is it really as bad as it appears to be from everything that i read? im coming from LA so what time do you girls suggest i get to the prison to get a cool number? how quickly do they process? is it true that they wont kick me out sinc ei am coming more than 250 miles? any other info you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Compared to where my husband use to be at, visiting is hell. If your husband is level 3 SNY you don't need a number. You line up on the side of the building at 7:45am, not earlier or the guard will tell you to go back to your car. I have gone twice now and I usally get in by 9:30 or 9:45am and that is getting there early by 7am. Alot of the other women go to the camp and there you need a number so most of them are there by 5am or so. If you get there by 7:30am you will be fine.
There is only 1 person that does processing for the whole place so the wait is long. My first visit I stayed the whole time, but this weekend I got terminated after only 3 hrs. The visiting room is small so first in,first out. I think if you tell the visiting room guards that you came that far, you should be ok but who knows there! Right now they are on a modified program so we can only visit on Saturdays, I would wait a couple of weeks until it goes to both days. Good Luck and if you have anymore ?'s just ask. where do u go before 7:45am? at calipatria everyone just lined up in their card outside the prison is that how it is at jamestown too? lining up at the building sounds great now but i cant imagine they still want us to do that in the winter...do they? this is definitely different from what i was used to but God got this whole situation in His hands so i am sure it will work out...i appreciate all the info you gave me and anything else u think i should know would be appreciated

Before 7am you can line up on the road outside the prison and drive into the gates at 7am. If you are going to level 3 yard there is no need to get there any earlier because we dont need numbers.
As far as winter goes, there is a covered tarp area but I'm not sure on how much good it will do.
What prison was your loved one in before?

At Jamestown, is SNY the same as Admin Seg?

I know someone answered this for me a while ago, but I wasn't sure if it applied to Jamestown as well.
