I will be going to visitation by myself on Sat. at 7. So far they won't extend it even though I will be driving between 20-24 hours round trip. I guess three hours is better than nothing.

I am glad you are getting to have a visit but they won't give you sat. and sun??? especially after all that driving....

the person I usually ask is on vacation. usually they let me do a back to back 7-2:30 visit

I'm back. We had a good three hour visit. I decided to stop on the way down and back since I am close to 60. I just can't do as much as I used to do without being exhausted a few days afterward and school starts Wednesday. I am glad to see him, but it's a little depressing. He has lost more weight and looked really tired. Between breakfast at 3 AM and the heat, I don't think he sleeps much.

Rkered, So glad you got to see your son. I know it is very hard to see him in these conditions. When will you get to visit again? My school started back last Thursday August 9. We seem to start back earlier every year. I am a 12 month employee, but in the summer I have no students and no teachers. I get a lot of work done. Glad you had a safe trip, get ready for Wednesday.

I won't get to visit before Thanksgiving. We will ask for a special visit unless that is a regular Saturday visitation. I have a new principal this year and he is wonderful, one of my former English collegues. Our former principal thought the student was the consumer and always right.

Rkered, glad to hear you have a good boss. I too have a wonderful principal as a boss. This is my 5th principal to work for, so you know what I mean when I say I am tired of training a new boss. Stay in touch and let me know how your son is doing. So far so good at my house. My son has a new friend and started dating this week. Say a pray for success.

I just said a prayer south1. My son started trade school, a big change from VA Tech, his girlfriend told him she just wants to be friends last week. I worry mostly about the heat.
