I have a quick question for everyone.... My mother passed away on Friday and my husband was allowed a furlough for 6 hours yesterday to attend her funeral with me. I got a Thank You card for the lady that approved the furlough and for the guards that allowed him to call me to help calm me down as I was hysterical. Do you think that would be appropriate or do you think that it would make it hard on him? I just want to show my appreciation and gratitude, because they were so nice to me and actually allowed him to go due to the fact that they are on closed house right now with no privelages at all. Thanks...

Hello. I am sorry for your loss. The right thing to do is always is the right thing to do no matter what the circumstance. Just my two cents.

I'm very sorry for your loss. We just went through the same thing a month ago so I understand what you're going through. Follow your heart. It usually won't lead you in the wrong direction...God bless!

If you feel in your heart that you are sending the card for a heart felt thank you by all means go ahead and send it. I am also very sorry for your loss.

Sympathys. By all means write them! Your letters just might be what gets the next person some of the same (and unusual!) treatment. Everybody likes to know they are appreciated.
