Anyone know what, if anything, I can send to the USP? I want to do something special for my man since they are on lockdown, but all I have ever done is send money. I would appreciate the information. This lockdown makes me really appreciate the few minutes on the phone every day. I am feeling pretty sorry for us about now. Hope all is well and thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I am still getting used to finding my way around this website.

Keep smiling, lockdown cannot last forever(better watch what I say, huh).

well other than letters, photos and magazine or newspaper clippings you can order him books from like amazon or barnes and noble..but that's about it.

i got a letter saying they'd be down for about a week or more..they are even handing out laundry schedules which i am told is not "good news"

Thanks! That is what I figured. I have sent a letter or card every day this week, so hopefully it makes his days a little brighter. A laundry schedule, goodness. Doesn't sound like a good thing. I have gotten letters from him and he said it would be a week or even longer, so I guess we wait and wait and wait some more. Thanks for giving me a place to talk about this.

Have a good night!!

oh definately it makes their days better getting mail..usually when he goes on lockdown i try my best to mail him every day..this past week hasn't been that way but it's kind of a long story as to why not...but i did send him 40 more pages of a book he's been having me mail him that you can download off the internet...i mail them 20 pages at a time so that i dont burn out my printer printing a ton all at once...so he should have himself busy wtih those 40 pages and some photos from the waterfalls in indiana that i took during my last trip down.

whenever they go down i try to send like magazine or newspaper articles or jokes of some sort to give a change to the monotomy

Sorry you haven't heard anything yet. Well, I think she was only referring to the possibility of this lockdown lasting awhile since she had heard they were giving out the schedules for laundry. We really have no idea. My man says it may be at least another week in the letter I got Friday. He must not be getting everything I sent since he said he felt like the only one talking on Friday. Hmmm. Maybe he will get bombarded on Monday and not know what hit him. All I know is this is enough to drive a person to drink. Goodness, just the sound of his voice would make me HAPPY!! Hope all is well with you.

laundry schedule means that the prison allows certain cells access to laundry (i dont know if it means that they leave their cell to do the laundry or if it means they are given an option to give their laundry to the guards to do)...basically, when tehy are on LD for a long time, they aren't able to clean their own clothes unless they clean it in their sink or toilet in their cell....so when they get a "laundry schedule" it gives them the impression they will be down for a while..

he himself told me that by getting that, he thought they'd be down at least a week more...but he also said that he HOPED they'd be off by this monday, but he has no idea.
