Well, let's see my father is or was still in jail, and I would like to find him his name is Curtis Mcdonald, he ws living in Toronto Canada, last time we spoke he was in Workworth Institution. Does anyone know if released on parole can you change your name legally? as he converted to Muslim while there.
Secondly, my fiance is in jail, and has a parole date in September, what do I write in (my) letter to the parole borad?
THank you for your help

Hi melissa. welcome to pto! as for your father, try writing a letter to warkworth institution addressed to him(curtis mcdonald) and if he is in the system, even if hes been moved they will forward the letter to him. it may take a month or so if hes not still in warkworth. im not sure about the name change once your on parole, i would think you would have to wait until your off parole to do something like that. do you need the address to warkworth? for your fiance's parole letter, you need to state your name, relationship to the inmate, for how long, his plans upon release and how you will help him to achieve his goals(job, etc) what types of community support is available to him( job bank, counselling, AA, NA, etc). If you want to PM me, feel free to anytime! ive written a few parole letters myself so if you need any help let me know :)

Send a letter to this address, with his full name on front, assuming you do not know his prison FPS number. In brackets, you can include his birthdate if you want. The letter should eventually catch up with him. If he is going to be paroled soon, telephone the National Parole Board office in the area and ask them, explain you are the daughter.
As for changing his name, if he is in the Pen, then he will have awhile on Parole. There is zero chance Correctional Services or Parole will allow a name change. Once his parole is over he'll have no problem changing it.

Rob is right about this and even if he has converted he will still have mail sent to him under his legal name(before he converted). Just send a letter addressed to him and which institution he's at and it will get to him. Good luck! Let me know how things work out for you!
