View Full Version : Would this be a possible referral to a program?

My bp-ex is in Texas, and initially his mom was going to drop the charges of credit card abuse because he used her credit card for a small amount while he was high on Adderall, and she bought him the Adderall prescription thinking it would help his depression. Not only that, he seemed to be doing better--got hooked up with MHMR and was doing what they were asking him to do, and his caseworker was checking on him daily.

His mom did not realize that the charges she had filed a month ago would lead to an arrest because that is when the cops took him to MHMR to get help so she thought that was what they were doing with the charges. Anyway, he was arrested Friday morning, and she could not get a hold of the DA until that evening so it was too late to drop the charges.

Over the weekend while he was in jail his parents found that he had managed to get another prescription of Adderall so it was only a matter of time before he began to steal again (the bottle had 60 30mg tablets, and it was empty after only 10 days--thinking he might have some hidden). In fact when confronted by his caseworker about the suspicion of having Adderall, he lied so well that she was convinced.

Now his mom is having second thoughts and is thinking she may not drop the charges because he needs treatment, and she had told the people at MHMR that he needed inpatient, but they were just putting him in group outpatient where he was fooling them.

How can he get into such a program? When would a judge offer it? He has only been in jail for a weekend, and his bail has been issued, but nothing further has been done. Surely he could not get Adderall into jail without them finding it.
