Hey Mattsmom,

I don't know for certain about Varner, but at the units I know about you can order books from Amazon, or Barnes and Noble online, or from a bookstore. It doesn't really have to come from a publisher, the retailer is fine, too.

No, the books do not have to be hard cover.

Hope this helps.

I have had books sent from a local Christain Bookstore.I'm sure any book store will send where ever you want it sent with a additional cost.My store charged for the postage, it took over a week....which I found out after having sent it and he did not receive it that the person who was taking it to the Post office had failed to mail it for a few days, when I called to ask the store. Or like Cessna said you can order it online. Kitty

You can have any book store just mail them to your son. It may cost you a little more but not much.

Order from Amazon. When you order $25 worth, the shipping is free, which usually adds up to three softcover books. Avoid hardcover books if at all possible, since very few make it through the mail room. Also, don't overwhelm your son with too many books at a time. Better to send lists and descriptions -- again, just print the Amazon page and mail to him to let him read about the book to gauge interest -- and let him decide what he would like to read.

There are lots of books, but few are good!
