Hello all,
We are Students Expressing Truth, an inmate-driven rehabilitation program based in Kingston, Jamaica. We have been in operation for seven years, with almost 100 released graduates and a 0% recidivism rate. We operate in three prisons in the Kingston area and host academic competitions, debates, and American Idol-style talent competitions for the inmates as well as providing them education in traditional academic projects and employable skills.
We join the PrisonTalk community with the hope that we can be a helpful resource to anyone who needs to learn about the Jamaican prison system. We also would like to get in touch with anybody doing prison rehabilitation to pool resources, share stories, and so on.
