Try heading north a bit. One hour north of the Twin Cities you'll hit virtually unpopulated areas, lovely state parks, camping, canoeing, fishing, and all that good stuff. And if you prefer something a bit more "sophisticated", there are always the casinos at Hinckley and Cloquet (70 and 110 miles north of the Twin Cities, respectively). Both have excellent hotels and I believe the prices are quite reasonable.

Anyone visiting the Hinckley area, do give me a holler. I have a retreat about 15 miles east of there and we just might bump into each other.
